Dr. David Tran, MD

….he got out of medical school, fells like (!) I would never consider another internist and I am now 72! All of the staff, from receptionist to nurses, have always complimented Dr. Tran’s care and manners!

Dr. Tran is a great doctor that really cares about his patients. You may have to wait in the lobby a little longer than you might be used to with other doctors, but that is because Dr. Tran takes his time with each patient to hear out what they are there for and also offer good advice other than just a prescription. His staff is also very polite and highly trained, smoothest and most pain free blood draw this side of the Mississippi.

Great doctor with the best bedside manners. He listened to all my concerns and took his time with me . I had no issues with booking an appointment as a new patient and was seen in a timely manner. I highly recommend Dr Tran for your Primary Physician.

Dr. Tran has been very helpful with my health issues. The meds he has prescribed have helped me with my health issues. Dr. Tran and his staff have treated me with respect and kindness. It is a pleasure to visit with Dr. Tran and his staff.

I always enjoy visiting with Dr. Tran. I don't refer to it as an appointment because he doesn't make the environment or all of the conversation just about your physical health.

dr. Tran is truly sensational. He truly cares about his patients and his knowledge is endless. He really knows how to get to the root of the illness. I trust him so much that when my parents moved here he got them right in and started managing all of the health issues flawlessly. I am so grateful to have him take care of entire family. My mom recently went to the hospital and the very next day Dr. Tran was right by her side and managed her recovery all the way through her recovery stay. I just love him to pieces.

He reviews my blood work throughly at every visit. Remembers my primary medical concerns. He advises what I can do on a daily basis to address my health issues. He is kind.

I cannot emphasize enough that you read all the negative comments, because they are TRUE! Don't let his residency at Lakeview Hospital fool you in thinking that he is compassionate, professional or invested in your health. He is known to prescribe meds that negatively affect patients health, order unnecessary tests for insurance claims, without personally evaluating the current condition of the patient. Staff can usually contact him via txt only. If he visits you for care, he spends 3-4 mins asking if you are in pain and he is gone. (If you receive a visit it's usually once a month late at night to avoid questions). This doctor is full of himself. If you press him for answers, he gets rude and passive. Save yourself or family member from making the mistake of using this doctor. This review is intended to inform patients and assuring your peace of mind. Read the other negative reviews which I have personally experienced. He's an avid Saints fan, but will leave you asking Who Dat.

You know, I am reading these reviews and understand where some are coming from but also believe they are giving a good doc an unfair review. EVERY doctor is under time constraints. Do I wait? Sure - as you would at any other MD office. You have no idea what Dr. T. may be dealing with while you wait. Maybe he has a PEC on his hands or a STEMI in the ER. I've been coming here for about four years now after I discovered I was not superhuman and could not manage my own health independently any longer. I have found his staff to be wonderful! Kelly - his office manager - has emailed me before when I had questions. His staff go out of their way for little things like accommodating a blood draw so I do not have to go to Quest. This past visit, I had an honest concern. Dr. T. took extra time to go back through my lab history, explain to me what he thought was happening, and re-assure me. As a nurse for over 20 years, I see both sides - but give your doc the benefit of the doubt!

I would give him zero stars. Made me wait for 1 1/2 hours while he was with a pharmaceutical rep. I had never seen him before. Before he ever examined me I asked him to check my hormone levels. He asked me if I wanted some “happy” pills. I said no. He asked me again before I left. I never went back. He also gave my husband some diet pills that almost gave him a heart attack. He’s a pill pusher!!

I tried to like Dr. Tran. He was soft spoken the first couple of visits. Then he wouldn't listen to my worries, got rude with me and basically called me a liar. He tried pushing expensive samples on me knowing my insurance wouldn't cover it.. Then tried getting me to change where I do my blood work, then tried getting me to change pharmacies. Every time I went I had a knot in my stomach. If you want to be treated with dignity, I wouldn't recommend him.

dr tran is slow two hrs in waiting 2 mins in exam. his staff is very rude and offputting kelley in billing cant record a payment properlyan sent me to yhe credit agencey. upon doing a trace with money gram turns out she deposited it and didnt record it at my expense. dont reccomend dr tran an his staff to anyone i will never go back.

Been going to David Tran for 14 years, he's the best, he takes his time with you and tells you what's going on.

Waited 2.5 hours to spend 5 minutes with the doctor. Would not recommend.

Great caring young doctor saved my life, by finding my health issues.

Dr. Tran in the short 2 months of me knowing him has taken his time to understand and help out any concern I have had for my health. He has thoroughly discussed all options I had given my concerns too and professionally guided me in the right direction to help monitor and control it. I will gladly and strongly recommend Dr. Tran to anyone with questions about anything medical as well as anyone unsure of how to approach the right steps to getting their concerns answered.

Prescribed me add medication without psych visit and this medication ruined my life!!

The doctor is reasonably compentent, however: 1. Wait times are unreasonable. Average time to wait with an appointment is 30-45 minutes. 2. Staff are incompetent, almost comical in inability to handle patient records and prescriptions. 3. Office manager is extremely surly as though she was doing you a favor by letting you see the doctor. 4. I think this doctor has too many patients.
