Dr. David Urrate, MD

Dr. Irrite has been my doctor for more than 13 or 15 years. As long he is in practice he will be my doctor. I am very thankful to him for helping me get functional and mentally healthy.

Accurate, brilliant, personable, compassionate.

I've been seeing Dr. Urrate for at least 8 years. My previous psychiatrist highly recommended him before leaving his practice. After the first time I saw him, I was convinced that he'd be my new doctor. From the start, he gained my trust and admiration. He carefully listens and his recommendations for medications are always spot on. I will be leaving Austin sometime next year and will miss him tremendously. I can only hope to find someone similar, although I have my doubts.

Finding a Psychiatrist in Austin has been arduous, to say the least. After having tried three other psychiatrists to help treat my son with Bipolar 2, we finally landed a good one! Not only is Dr. Urrate kind, he is also very patient, and a good listener as well. He has been a good fit for my son. As well, I would add that working with a competent office manager (Elizabeth) is also a very integral part of treatment. Of course, this is a personal decision for anyone seeking treatment.

Dr. Urrate is outstanding compared to other psychiatrists I've seen. For several years he has been treating me for a particularly difficult type of unipolar depression. He's very good at explaining treatment options and responding to my questions in clear, non-medical terms. He keeps me apprised of new medications and treatments, which is important because it gives me hope that we'll find a solution. He and the office staff promptly respond to my questions and requests, usually the same day.

Dr. Urrate is an excellent physician and there is no one I would trust more with my mental health needs. Great experience.
