Dr. Davinder Kakar, MD

Daughter repeatedly hospitalized since Aug 2020, over under medicated and was released still unwell. Upon 9-17-24 release she was given 3x the normal amount of her medicine and sent home stupefied and disconsolate. She can perform no tasks and will continue to have trouble keeping a job and pulling her life back together. Dr Karkar is the one name continuously associated with her 7 intakes, Dr Karkar is the one I question. She has other issues that may interact to cause the schizo affective problems. They do nothing to find out. A nurse on the phone described it as 'We get em, medicate em, and get em out of here' The way Dr Karkar sent her home resulted in depression, nausea, physical discomfort and EXTREME anxiety. To me Havenwyck is another 'Mentally ill patients for CASH' type of facility. I am listed on my daughters HIPPA but was told no one talks to the doctor. If I have any say she would go anywhere else. In the event it happens again I will not return her to Dr Karkar's care.

Dr. Kakar has treated my two sons for 9 years. They both have made tremendous progress with the symptoms of their illnesses. Dr. Kakar is an exceptional diagnostician and communicator. With effective medication and outstanding counseling and patient/parent dialogue, Dr. Kakar has helped my sons through crisis to stability. He is always available, caring, and professional.

Ten minutes for a diagnosis. I've been diagnosed by two of the best in the U.S. Karkar falls short of a physician who cares about his diagnosis or the patient. The medications he ordered are contraindicated w/ ACE inhibitors. The mixture would've been catastrophic. With a bachelors in nursing, pharmacology has been beneficial in protecting the well being of myself & others. There are too many caring, better physicians to risk seeing Karkar! If you want drugs, Lithium, Seroquel etc. he's a 5*

This July I will have been seeing Dr. Kakar for three years. We have a very good working relationship. Each month I bring him my concerns and updates about how I am feeling. He listens carefully and provides encouraging words and then decides whether any changes need to be made to my medication regiment. I am satisfied that I have found Dr. Kakar to be very professional as we are open and honest with each other.
