My GI doc retired and my files were transferred to Dr. Kumpuris--2021. I was told by his office that , 'Oh, he'll be right with you the whole way from start to finish.' No, he even forgot to give me the results and they had to find him. He's comment was 'Dirty, very dirty--with a sneer. Come back in 5 years.' I continued having problems and called. Had a gastric emptying test which confirmed gastroparesis. Called for results and was told he would be back in 10 days and liked to talk to his patients himself. I said no that is not acceptable and another nice doctor called me and explained the results. Problems continued and I ended up with a very infected gallbladder which had eroded into my colon and liver. ER and then major surgery. I switched GI docs after that.

Every time I've been to his office it's been a bad experience! Always walks in with none of my medical records. Then sits down and says to me how can I help you? Duh my blood results? Without saying anything he says we lost your blood test we're going to need to have a new blood test made. I said this makes 2/3 I said this makes the same blood test I've done three times my copay had to pay a hundred and some dollars for the first two tests who's going to pay for this one? They said they lost my blood test I told the receptionist take a second look on your computer she says oh there it is he looks at me and says well we still need to have another blood test what the what? I told him no I don't need to have a third blood test for the same thing in one month I felt like my insurance company was being milked for money he was not caring for my welfare! He didn't even know why I was there! I said you scheduled me 4 test results on my blood I told him this is very unprofessional not having re

Dr. Kumpuris was excellent for me , first at his office to collect my personal information then about a week later, he performed my colonoscopy at the G.E. clinic up N.University Avenue on Dec. 2014. I had a previous colonoscopy 14 years earlier when living in N.J.; when compared and contrasted with that M.D. and office / hospital; Dr. Kumpuris and staff were equal to my first excellent experience. Based on my recommendation, my wife had her lasted colonoscopy with Dr. Kumpuris a year ago , Oct. 2018 and she was satisfied with his professionalism also. I sorry to read from other patients had disappointments; I don't have an answer for our different experiences.

Very pompass attitude! If he cant run you back and forth like a saw with his tests and drugs, he doesnt want anything to do with you. Good luck in your uncaring money driven attitude and profession.

I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND HIM. My dad was 83 years old and in excellent health. He saw Dr. Kumpuris for his checkups and followed the doctors orders. All this doctor did was change his medicine. My mom will not go back to Dr. Kumpuris because my dad passed away on June 26, 2016. My dad put his life in Kumpuris' hands and this doctor did not give my dad the attention he needed. Other doctors at St. Vincent told us this condition had gotten out of hand and overlooked by the doctor. Jana Teeter
