I Appreciate Dr Bakes Sooo much... she has saved my life Twice in 2 years, she found things that other doctors in a different hospital would ignore. I recommend her to anyone that I know, if they have colon problems. Thank You Dr Bakes

Helpful care
I was referred to Dr. Bakes after a sitz marker test showed 24 rings left in my descending colon. She promptly had me get two tests of my rectal system and fit me in for a last consultation and advice the day before I was scheduled to move out of state. It's unfortunate I was not able to follow up with Dr. Bakes in New York. Although she was always very rushed, she was personable and her comments made sense; my problems were taken very seriously, and her advice was clearly explained.

Dr Bakes promised a nearly painless procedure. But it resulted in the worst pain I ever expected. Just [prior to going in the OR she had me sign a consent form which gave her the power to do surgery which was never discussed. Any other doctor would have informed me of this possibility. It's taken me a month so far to recover.

I have a very complicated colorectal history and was seen as an emergency. My first appointment should have been my first clue when she cut me off and told me she had another patient instead of taking the time to explain things. She did a colonoscopy and PERFORATED my bowel, allowing air and e coli to fill my abdomen causing a huge ecoli infection. I was rolled out of the colonoscopy looking 12 months pregnant and she took off leaving me in recovery in immense pain, where I was told "no other dr would touch me" and she was in surgery. I have a colostomy and she flat out LIED to me saying she found a mysterious "hole" in my intestines that allowed the air and ecoli to escape into my abdomen. I went for a 2nd opinion and that "hole" is actually part of my ostomy, and yet she, a colorectal surgeon, didn't know that? On 2nd opinion I was diagnosed with the perforation. She lied to cover her tracks. She is the most inept, shadiest, DISHONEST, doctor. This incident took literally 4 months to resolve. IF YOU WANT EXCELLENT HEALTHCARE DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR!!!! If I wasn't so sick I would sue her. Perforations can happen, but to actually LIE! Immoral.
