Outstanding Surgeon
I have been been under Dr Axelrod’s follow-up care since she performed surgery on me to remove a malignant breast tumor in 2014. Her excellent skills, collaboration with my oncologist and her follow-up care have contributed greater to my positive healing process. Not only is she very thorough, she takes time to explain and answer questions, but she inspires great confidence. Last year my daughter was also diagnosed with breast cancer, I reached out to her so that she would perform my daughters surgery. She immediately took my daughter under her wing and provided the best of care. I totally recommend Dr Axelrod as I believe she is the best in her field.

The Best There Is
I am so grateful and blessed to have had Dr. Axelrod as my surgeon after being diagnosed with tnbc. She speedily got me through all the imaging and biopsies so that I could comfortably make decisions on which surgery to elect. The surgery and recovery were as smooth as can be and I have been able to count on her attentive and supportive follow up. She is so knowledgeable, so dilligent, and so encouraging. I could not have asked for a better treatment experience and will be forever grateful. Thank you, Dr. Axelrod!

Amazing, compassionate & professional. Took time to answer my questions and reassure me & my family. If you have to wait a little longer, it’s because she’s truly concerned about each individual patient. When I thought of even more questions, a day or 2 later, I called and she spent the time to answer without shrugging me off. Getting a diagnosis of cancer is frightening and I’d rather wait & feel my doctor is available to me & not rush me. I was petrified and am thankful I found such an amazing surgeon!

Awful experience in every way.  This was my first visit with a surgeon following cancer diagnosis, and I went with a list of questions and concerns. I left with no answers, and even more anxious and confused than I was going in.  First there was a 2 hour wait in a crowded waiting room.  Dr. Deborah Axelrod has very poor personal and communication skills, did not answer my questions or explain things clearly, and was sometimes condescending in addressing my concerns.  The meeting felt super rushed.  We were  interrupted numerous times during the discussion, and I got the feeling that she wasn't at all interested in in me.   Do not be deceived by her celebrity status and publicity/marketing machine. As I learned the hard way, none of that makes her a good doctor. If you want to work with a doctor who treats you with respect, is compassionate, and has an inkling of the vulnerability created by a cancer diagnosis, speaks clearly and explains things thoroughly,,  GO ELSEWHERE!

Dr. Axelrod has been my physician for more years than I care to remember. I have recommended her to many friends who have also found her to be compassionate, warm, intelligent, personable and more than willing to share information, answer questions and provide comfort and nurture. I can not put into words how knowing that Dr. Axelrod is on your side has made my experience so much better and quelled my anxieties. I trust her with my breasts and my life.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Deborah Axelrod. She is warm, compassionate, and personable. She spends a lot of time with her patients, answering questions honestly and thoroughly explaining the diagnosis and plan. She is not only brilliant, but you can tell she really cares. She remembers the little things and always makes it a point to ask about how my partner is (by name!) She truly a remarkable surgeon and person. I would not trust anyone else but Dr. Axelrod.

If I could give zero stars I would. I waited for 3 hours, her staff was awful and I left feeling so upset. Her office is lined with Barbie dolls and moving boxes. She was atrocious to me.

When I met Dr. Axelrod I was newly diagnosed with breast cancer. I had finished taking care of my mother for five years at cancer ravaged her body. I was numb. Dr Axelrod explained, patiently, the results of each of my pre-tests. After surgery, there was confusion about the test results on my tumor. She diligently followed the testing-reteting-final-reteting process. She journeyed with me as I transitioned into oncology. Three years later she still takes each of my emails & calls.
