Injections yes, patient care no
My elderly mother has Wet AMD had has been receiving injections from Cr Chong for several years. Regardless of whether the injections work, as my mother's condition has worsened she has received no counseling about coping with blindness. The practice keeps telling me her vision is OK, which is nonsense, she can't even see the food she tries to feed herself or common household objects. I have not received any communication form the practive about this problem. As far as I can tell they are just in the business of billing medicare $5000 for intraocular injections and not comprehensive AMD patient care. They also have two different locations and randomly switch paients back and forth between locations. This is confusing to elderly patients and caregivers.

Disappointing experience
Disappointing! I have seen Dr. Chong for a number of years. As my conditioned worsened, Dr. Chong administered an inter ocular shot. I had a bad response to this. I scheduled an appointment to discuss this with her. My appointment was scheduled for 7:45 am. I was seen at around 9:30. She gave me about 5 minutes of her time and said my questions were not concise enough. I’ve never received this sort of treatment from a doctor before. I felt like I was in an eye factory and I was slowing up the assembly line. I think Dr. Chong must have too many patients!

Get ready to bleed money
I am so disappointed at this point. The communication was not good from the start not telling me all the possible side effects and things to expect throughout the process. They touched on some but not everything. Then I'm told all the appointments and tests and all for the next several months were considered post-opp and no additional charges which have provwd to be a lie and I have neen billed and billed and billed throughout. I just paid a $250 bill that slapped me in the face at my last visit yesterday which included multiple past visits within what should have been post-op and then to kick me again, I just received another bill for $80. I am getting nickel and dimes for everything and I have no idea what these charges are even for it is ridiculous. I am bleeding money and it is like this place is the vampire that won't Is doing everything they can to bleed me dry and it seems extremely unethical. It is unreal. Now I have to deal with headaches, pressure in my eye...just blow it off

I went to Dr Chong on a referral regarding floaters. After a thorough exam Dr. Chong recommend a vitrectomy. I was obviously apprehensive about this procedure but Dr. Chong and her surgical staff were so professional and personable they made me comfortable. The procedure was a breeze and the results fantastic. I really appreciate everything Dr. Chong has done for me and the way she deals with her patients. I highly recommend Dr. Deborah Chong.

Dr. Chong is incredibly skilled and knowledgeable. She is able to effectively, quickly, and painlessly look in your eyes and know if anything is wrong. She also takes the time to listen to you and answer all your questions. One time, she even offered to have me come in the evening when the office was closed to do an emergency evaluation when I thought I had a retinal detachment. Friendly, humble, and caring, it is not surprising that she is considered among the best retinal doctors in Texas
