Professional Skills Needed
I had an annual 'physical' with Dr. Rawlinson, she spent more time typing, and may have laid hands on me 1 time (lymph nodes in neck). This person cannot make direct eye contact, I've had better care from my Nurse Practitioner. Very stiff, impersonal and rude. I know she has skills, but responds to everything as if she's reading from an 'order set' i.e. these are your issues, here is the results. Dry, and not really suited to direct patient care as a physician, maybe research would be better focus.

AWFUL DOCTOR
Dr. Rawlinson has the bedside manner of a brick. She was pretty rude and told me that, in essence, she would only discuss one concern per appointment. In other words, she told me I had to make another appointment and come back to discuss a new subject matter. She actually said she was not going to discuss things further at this appointment. She told me to make a new appointment. I've never experienced this before from a doctor. When I left the clinic, I sat in my car in the parking lot for 20 minutes just dumbfounded at what had just happened.

Dr. Rawlinson
I am on a specific quest to build a patient/provider relationship with an African American female physician and in my search, I found Dr. Rawlinson. In hindsight, I should have read the reviews prior to scheduling a wellness exam with Dr. Rawlinson. During my visit, she did not appear interested with my concerns. I literally felt as if I were just a number that she checked off of her daily tasks. The assistant that roomed me and completed the preliminaries, displayed an impeccable bedside manner and was very attentive and responsive, unlike Dr. Rawlinson. I was very disappointed in the care and feedback that I received and will only hope that as she progresses in her career that she will extensively develop people skills. I will not continue care with Dr. Rawlinson because I do not trust that she has the ability to provide exceptional care in the event of major health issues.

I had a great experience!
Outstanding! I was looking for a new PCP near my home and specifically a black female MD. I found Dr. Rawlinson and I am very happy with her. I have only seen her once and it was for my annual physical so I spent a good deal of time with her reviewing my history and my concerns. I found her to be very attentive and displayed genuine care about my concerns. I felt at ease with her and I felt that she was patient with my many questions. The bad reviews that she has received are puzzling to me because I had the exact opposite experience.

Worst Doctor Ever!
My doctor relocated and I found Rawlinson near my home! What a mistake I made, the worst mistake ever. She does not have any people skills at all. She does not know how to explain anything without having a smart tone, slight comments, just rude! I see why she has appointments available all the time! No follow up on labs, hard to get refills, she’s a disaster! I would not recommend her to my worst enemy! Atrium should provide her with some basic training on communication, people skills, bedside manners etc. Would not return or Recommend… let me repeat I would Not Recommend her!

Nonchalant and not thorough
Had a long wait and when she finally came in, she had an ‘as a matter of fact’ demeanor. She didn’t appear to he interested in what my issues were and brushed everything off as no big deal. Maybe this, maybe that. I felt like this was a waste of my time and energy.

Poor bedside manners
I have seen all the other doctors in this practice and they are polite, extremely knowledgeable and listen to the patients concerns. I drive 40 minutes from Charlotte because of Drs like Atkinson and Baker. Because Primary doctors have to know a little about a lot it is normal to er on the side of caution ordering standardized tests or sending the patient on to a specialist because you don’t know everything. I am disappointed. I am a health care professional 24 years and was completely dismissed but she would not order the next step in standardized tests, with snarky comments about my insurance. We treat the patient not the insurance plan. We educate our patients and explain medically why you are refusing. She then had her nurse call me to say I had to go get my films an hour away to fax them to her when they are uploaded in my portal and 1’ care Dr to fax request since she wants actual film. She has openings daily and the others are booked out for weeks. I pray for her, her patients.

RUN!
Completely dismissed my dad and was extremely rude when he presented to her office with shortness of breath and chest pain. She ignored all of his concerns, wrote his symptoms off as reflux, and sent him home. We went to the hospital after the visit and he had 99.9% blockage in one of his heart arteries and >75% in others and was stented immediately.

Waste of time. Waste of money.
Not only was she was extremely dismissive of my concerns, she had a bad attitude, was very snarky and even ridiculed my concerns. When I asked her about my ongoing scalp issues, she actually asked me if I have a hair stylist and to ask them to assist me and that it may be the products that I’m using, when I told her I was not interested in seeing a hairstylist about scalp issues as that is not their profession, she said that she was just giving suggestions and if I didn’t want to take them, then that’s fine. She was tremendously snide to the point where I didn’t even stay for testing and I’m sure she charged me for that anyway. Awful experience and that was just one part.

Dr. Rawlinson is an AWESOME physician with an outstanding ability to delivery excellent patient-centered care. She's knowledgeable, very professional and friendly. I look forward to my visits with Dr. Rawlinson because she's gentle in her approach. She motivated me to do a much better job with taking care of my health. Today, I received a very good report on my lab work, among others. If you are looking for a top-notch educated physician, I highly recommend Dr. Rawlinson and her assistant Tamicko. Trust me; you will be very pleased! And, the front office staff ROCKS! Go One Health. The best primary care practice in Huntersville.

Worst doctors appointment I’ve ever had. I was seen by the nurse and told that the doctor would be in shortly, little did i know that meant an hour later. Being a new patient, i was expecting a greeting or an introduction— she came in hopped right on the computer. When i mentioned my symptoms about my back she made snarky comments of my age and commented i was too young to be having those problems—which explains why i am here! She is obviously not a people’s person. As she was leaving she asked me if her nurse took my urine sample; which is something she should’ve known. The nurse came back to take my urine and it came back okay so i thought. Until my back started to really hurt that night, it became unbearable by the next night and I headed to urgent care. They took a urine sample and saw that I had a kidney infection! I was already upset by the mistreatment but this put the icing on the cake-how did you not detect this?! I would not recommend this doctor to anyone.

Rawlinson seemed to be bothered as indicated with eye rolling, fast blinking when explaining common sensical information, and somewhat denigrating in behavior. Overall, poor bedside manners. Building rapport with patients is critical to earning trust and respect. I am unimpressed and will not return to her for service.
