Changing dermatologist
Both my husband are changing dermatologist after 17 years of service going from outstanding to downright forgetfulness. My husband’s annual, didn’t call in a cream prescription. Among many other issues. From not doing her job in which we pay for, example not doing a complete check for skin cancer. As patients you shouldn’t have to request. Her bedside manner has really changed making a patient feel shame is not professional in any manner if you don’t put on the proper sunblock. I pray for her what ever is going on with her as I see we are not the only ones. I never leave reviews but felt this was necessary for others looking for a dermatologist. Her husband is an awesome internist!!

Last Visit for me
I have seen Dr. Howell for many years, but I think I am done after today. Her demeanor has progressively gotten worse over the years. She has steadily gone from overly professional to unfriendly/unwelcoming, and when a patient has to get fully undressed-the last thing you want to feel is like the doctor is grossed out by you, or doesn’t want to touch you. Her exam was too quick to be thorough too. I guess she has made her fortune, so the care quality can be slack now.

“Poor bedside manner”
Dr. Howell has a “poor bedside manner” which is not what I need while naked wearing a paper shirt. Perhaps it was my interpretation and she did not mean to communicate an attitude that I am to blame for the damage. Compassion is in order for those of us who grew up on the coast with fair skin who were born before sunscreen was effective and never worshipped the sun. Nothing close to compassion from her. Maybe she should have chosen a different speciality.

Dr Howell is by far, the best dermatologist I've been to! I have pemphigus and it's hard to treat and get back to living, close to normally. She got me there. She keeps up with my disease and treatments and keeps me going!

She is not knowledgeable about hyperhidrosis and different treatments for this condition. She was condescending when trying to discuss my problems with her and acted as if I had no idea what I was talking about. She seems to think that Botox is the cure for hyperhidrosis.
