The Front desk check in
Dr. Zhang is wonderful and a wonderful doctor I really appreciate the few times I was seeing by him but unfortunately, I’ve had two incidents with the front desk that has me looking for a new doctors office to go to the front desk was very unprofessional. I had a 915 appointment. I got there at 9 AM. I checked in at 9 AM. It was 945. I went back to the front desk and asked what was going on. The nurse looked at me and said I will see why they haven’t brought you back and continue talking with her fellow nurses instead of actually seeing what the problem was another nurse walked by and looked at me and asked have I been seen yet cause she noticed I have been sitting out there for 45 minutes. I told her I had a 915 appointment and I have not been brought to the back yet. Meanwhile, I’ve seen people check in after me be seen and left before I even got to the back. She finally brings me back there and starts taking my blood. All in all, I just walked out looking for a new doctors office

Excellent doctor!
Dr Zhang is very professional and always tells me the latest discoveries in breast cancer research. Amazingly, he has always been on time in his clinic visits. No long waiting time in the lobby, I highly recommend him for breast cancer post surgery care.

Referred to him by my PCP as all other providers at Riverview location were booked up. Did bloodwork several times and Dr. Zhang was convinced I had Fifth's disease for some reason. I had to beg to get a bone marrow biopsy scheduled after a dermatologist independently biopsied some of my skin lesions and that biopsy came back positive for leukemia cells. Provided that report to Dr. Zhang, who did not even bother to read it before my last appointment with him; I had to ask him to read it while in the office, and he grudgingly agreed to schedule a bone marrow biopsy for 10 or so days later. Sought a second opinion the day after this appointment, and that oncologist immediately admitted me to the hospital to start treatment of my aggressive AML. I feel like Dr. Zhang fixated on one blood test result and was unable to consider changing his mind when presented with additional evidence; I'm very glad I sought that second opinion and got into appropriate lifesaving treatment ASAP.

From the time that I arrived for my office visit, the front desk staff were pleasant and friendly, the phlebotomy ladies ....just love them and most of all Dr Zhang was very attentive to how I was doing, very professional and spoke on a level that I understood. His tone put me at ease,, not knowing what news that he was going to give me.. Either way,, I was ready to face wherever news that I was going to receive! Fortunately, this time...the news was great!!!!! Dr Zhang has my 100 approval for giving me the best oncology care ever!!!

Caring/great bedside manner/detailed explanations and treatment planning, thorough testing, and provided the treatment I needed. One frustration was he not checking my lab results from the week prior to our appointment so my pre-authorization could be done sooner to start infusions rather than have to wait another 2 weeks.

Dr. Zhang is currently my Oncologist. I see him at the Riverview Hospital location. He is very compassionate, kind, addresses all my questions and concerns and, most importantly, listens. When there is good news to share, he is just as happy as the patient. When other Riverview employees I encounter see he is my doctor, they have nothing but good things to say about him. I am thankful I was referred to him.

We were placed on Dr. Zhang's schedule because all the other doctors were booked for several months out. The doctor had a horrible bedside manner and provided no care, no compassion, and no hope. His nurse, Taylor, was incredibly timid and made a few errors right off the start. Communication was non-existent as we waited for 5-7 days for responses to emails and phone calls. The doctor also did not check on results prior to meeting with us which pushed starting treatment by 2 weeks. At least 5 nurses in the chemo room and 2 phlebotomists in the lab draw area had their masks down past their mouths with one nurse even removing her mask as her shift ended. Overall, our experience with communication and care was horrible.

Dr. Zahng is a wonderful doctor that takes the time to listen to his patients. He even gave us advice on what to do for my step mother that saved her life when no other doctor would listen. Appointment times are always on time no long waits. Very good to explain everything. Highly recommend Dr. Zahng.
