I am writing this review while my procedure with Dr. Kalmaz is still fresh on my mind. I was naturally very scared and nervous about undergoing a colonoscopy for some symptoms I was experiencing. Not only was Dr. Kalmaz extremely gracious and kind, she patiently explained the procedure I was about to undergo and then, upon completion, took the time to review her findings with me in a way that I could understand. I am so grateful to Dr. Kalmaz and her staff for being consummate, tip-top professionals throughout my visit. Thank you so much!

Terrible experience. Discounted symptoms and wrote other symptoms into after care notes that I never said I had. She did zero diagnostics during my visit even though I waited weeks for the appt to address an acute problem. Prescribed an old fashioned colonoscopy prep (drink two gallons of liquid) that nobody uses anymore. Both pharmacy and new GI (yes I abandoned UCSD completely after visit with Dr. Kalmaz) said everyone should know the prep she prescribed is not available at all for a long time because it shares ingredients with Pfizer and Moderna COVID vaccines. And there was no way to even follow up to tell her that. She is the only doctor in my provider list who will not support my chart messages. Overall I strongly recommend to find a different GI.

Absolutely the worse doctor I have ever seen. Orders wrong tests, staff is rude and doctor does not help.

Doctor who orders incorrect tests (even though I specifically asked for a test to rule out a specific medical condition) without checking if the patients insurance can cover it. I am a student trying to make ends meet and for unnecessary tests, I ended up getting a 650$ bill for a single unnecessary test that came back negetive. Can't afford to go back to a doctor who puts in hemograms as special tests costing me hundreds and doesnt check with me if I can afford these expensive tests.

GREAT doctor who was patient, thorough, and explained my problems in an accessible manner. After seeing many doctors, her bedside manners are also a nice novelty. Highly recommend!

The staff and Dr. Kalmaz addressed my concerns and I felt comfortable enough to request a minimal amount of drugs. I was awake/aware and could watch the colonoscopy procedure on screen and talk to Dr. Kalmaz.
