Lacked Respect for Patient Autonomy
I felt my concerns were not addressed during my visit and I left leaving more confused than when I walked in. I was reminded she went to X years of medical school, which didn't seem relevant to the conversation. I was told I was too young to be asking about fertility in my early 30s, which felt dismissive. I noticed a condescending note in my patient chart, which made me uncomfortable. If you're looking for a provider that values a patient-provider partnership, I would not recommend.

Didn’t diagnose postpartum preeclampsia or see me
Dr. Vourlous was the on call ob for my practice and I had the misfortune of speaking with her 5 days after delivery when I was having chest pain and my blood pressure was in the range I was advised to call immediately when I was being discharged after delivery. I went to the ER at her advisement, and never saw her at the hospital. She was dismissive and curt during my phone call, incorrectly recorded the BP reading I told her over the phone, told the ER doc I could be discharged since they obtained one normal BP reading, but I fought to stay because I just felt terrible. The ER doc did one additional reading which was high, and then called Dr. Vourlous back. She never showed up after I was admitted in labor & deliver and never provided any information about next steps after getting increasingly high blood pressure readings during monitoring overnight. I was diagnosed with postpartum preeclampsia the next morning by the next OB on shift. I could have had a stroke at home had I left.

Unpleasant
I have never been so dismissed or laughed at during a visit and would advise all patients avoid care from this doctor. Her open availability should be a warning.

Horrible bedside manner, made mother uneasy
My cousin gave birth this morning with Dr. Kirkner-Vourlos. The doctor rushed her and made her feel horrible and uncomfortable. While she was crying from the pain, the doctor rudely told her that crying would not help her push. She also continued to pressure her by making comments about her inability to push. The doctor did not wait even five minutes before suggesting suction. All the while, the doctor continued to make inappropriate comments about her lack of strength and patience. These comments were not encouraging to her but made her feel bad and uneasy while she was already in pain. Our family feels that this experience was entirely inappropriate and out of line. We can not understand how a doctor who delivers babies could be so insensitive and careless towards a mother. I am really sad that my cousin, and other women (judging from other reviews), had to receive this treatment.
