Dr. Devak Desai, MD

I was seen by Dr. Desai while at BOSHA hospital for acute osteomyelitis of a toe that had been neglected by the orthopedic surgeon. Dr. Desai was very professional and educational. He offered a plan of action and was optimistic. I began IV antibiotics through a PICC line, then after 6 wks, began oral antibiotics for 3 months. Dr. Desai was invested in my health, ordering labs and Xrays to observe the progress. In addition, his office staff is polite and professional. As a long time nurse, I highly recommend Dr. Desai for any infectious diseases or post op problems, such as I had. Excellent physician! I was very lucky he was consulted for my case.

My experience with Dr Desai and his nurse Kandis has been the best service I have received in a very long time. They both take the time to listen and answer all my questions. I would highly recommend Dr. Desai for your infection needs.

Great experience with Dr Desai. I barely waited to be helped when I checked in. His nurse was very friendly and helpful. I especially loved how Dr. Desai really took his time to explain my conditions with me as well as my treatment options. I had a great visit and the doctor and his nurse's demeanor has really put me at ease so I highly recommend this office.

It’s hard to find a doctor that you can trust and much less a great staff. He is always on top of my treatment and explains everything to me and makes sure I understand the plan before leaving the room. His nurse Candace has a bubbly personality that you don’t see much these days. Great team.

Top notch service. From making the appointment to getting a treatment plan together. Dr Desai and his nurse work great together and got things done in a timely manner. Would definitely recommend if you need an infectious disease doctor.

HORRIBLE PATIENT CARE!!!!! They made my husband wait a week between the transition from intravenous antibiotics to an oral antibiotic, because they didn't know his pharmacy.... but did they try to call and ask? NO. They apparently do not communicate with the hospital (Manafield Methodist) to see what is going on with the patient's treatment plans. Again out of intravenous medication because they thought the patient was still in the hospital.... someone had the medication... right.... but no, they are calling in an oral medication until they get the intravenous medication in. I've always understood with an infection you treat it consistently...

Still waiting on a callback 3 days now

I was treated by Dr. Devak Desai. During my time of treatment, Dr Desai prescribed the medication Bactrim to me. It was during this time, I experienced a rapid decline in my health, while under the care of Dr. Desai. I was hospitalized 3 times for a total of 4 weeks within 4 months. During the last hospital visit of a total (with a two week hospital stay), it was determined that Dr. Desai should not have prescribed me the medication, Bactrim because it contained sulpha and I am allergic to sulpha! As a result of Dr. Desai practicing medicine on me, I lost a total of over 100 pounds within a 4-month time period – a rapid decline in weight loss. I lost complete function of my kidneys whereas my Creatinine level reached 17. It was during the last hospital stay I had to undergo dialysis because my kidneys were not functioning. I remained in a state of nausea and consistently regurgitated even by drinking water, not to mention I could not eat. Total Incompetence!

Not taking care of business. Waiting 2 weeks for him to do his job and contact insurance. To get pre approved for treatment.

I can't say enough great things about Dr. Desai and his staff. I was referred to him by my surgeon after developing an infection during hip replacement surgery. Dr. Desai is an awesome doctor, one of the best I've ever had. He's smart, patient, explains everything (over and over to me, sometimes) and really cares about his patients. His nurses are extremely knowledgeable, very exact and precise, and are a joy, considering why I'm there! I've never waited more than 10 minutes for an appt.
