Rude, thinks she is gods gift to the universe. Mean and nasty if you don’t jump and salute her. She has NO business in healthcare.

So Grateful
Dr. Dickson-Witmer and her staff are simply INCREDIBLE. Every single person I dealt with during my breast cancer process was empathetic, kind, caring, knowledgeable, and professional. Amanda, Shadow, and Donna are such a great TEAM with Dr. Dickson-Witmer. Dr. Dickson-Witmer called me even while she was on vacation. She was very thorough in every aspect. I had ZERO pain from my surgery. I cannot thank Dr. Dickson-Witmer and her team enough for taking such great care of me.

So caring!
This Dr. would give the shirt off of her back to help her patients. She fights for them. She may give you a hard time for not exercising, being overweight or actively smoking (which causes a preventable cancer), but she is only concerned with helping you reduce your risk of cancer. Period. I would recommend anyone I care about to be treated by her, hands down. Don't listen to these condescending and rude comments. They are just mad because she gave them a hard time about being sedentary or smoking, but they care about getting breast cancer. She is empathetic and strong and the most experienced surgeon in Delaware. She is a WONDERFUL doctor.

I absolutely recommend Dr. Dickson-Witmer. She is very knowledgeable, and competent. She answers most of my questions before I even ask them but always checks to make sure I don't have anymore. She spends a fair amount of time during the office visits. And she is quite pleasant. One thing that I love about her practice is that she has a nurse navigator who keeps up with all the details, and can be called whenever I have a question, and she does a good job as well. The staff made my appointments for me but were very open to changing them as needed. I really like her office staff as well. This is an efficient practice, but very friendly

My Experience with Doctor Dickson-Witmer
In the state of Delaware, patients have the right to see a copy of their medical files. I would suggest that her patients do so. I couldn't believe the things she said about me. She thinks that she is my therapist, I am her patient, and she's qualified to diagnose me. Stick with boobs doctor, not psychological analysis.

Dr. Whither did an excellent job treating my breast cancer. She was professional, knowledgeable and considerate. I did not find her condescending but, she definitely knows how to get you through the nightmare of breast cancer by taking charge of the situation. She makes it known that she is the leader, she is in charge. As an RN I understand the experiences that influenced her professional interaction with patients. When she began her career as a woman surgeon close to fifty years ago it was not an easy climb, she fought to become who she is. In conclusion I give this great lady my enduring respect and thanks.

Horrible doctor
I was treated by Dr Dickson she has terrible bed side manners. She was argumentative and didn’t really want to hear what I had to say. absolutely concur with the above reviews. Dr Dickson-Witmer was rude and condescending and was angry that I asked questions.I called the office and spoke to the manager Chris stating the facts of how I was treated. She kept saying I don’t need reconstruction and that I need to do radiation I am doing chemo not it’s not for her to say it’s my decision she is not an oncologist. I never in my whole life have been treated so poorly by a doctor before. I was also told that I need psychiatric help really I’m happy that I’m alive yea it’s normal to have some depression with all I’ve endured but I have a loving family and support system from my friends. I was this letter removed from my portal records this is so sad that she even is still practicing. Very unhappy do not go to this doctor! Oh f I could give a negative rating I would.

poor patient interaction
saw her on the advice of my primary care doctor will not see her again. She is very condescending. I understood what she was saying to me yet she was more interested in me getting bariatric surgery than addressing the issues I went to her for. She made me feel like she cannot accept people who are obese. I know I struggle with my weight, and it has been a lifelong battle but at my age (OLD) I am NOT going to consider surgery to reduce my weight, diet yes surgery no, she needs to stick to boobs not bellies.

Excellence from start to finish
A routine mammo showed micro calcifications and I was referred to Dr. Witmer for a consult and ultimately biopsy. I am very puzzled by the other reviews as my experience was top notch. She spent a lot of time with me, answering every question. She and her staff were professional and caring. The biopsy itself was not an experience anyone wants to deal with, but Dr. Witmer and the radiology staff made it as stress free and easy as possible. Best of all Dr. Witmer called me the next day to say the biopsy was benign and I needed no further follow-up. She and the rest of the Beebe staff really impressed me. If I ever needed breast care again, I would go back to her immediately.

Helped me tremendously
Dr Whitmer provided support and pulled in the best area docs for my unique situation. She is very committed to her new role and support of women’s health in southern DE. I am a 2009 breast cancer survivor with no breasts due to mastectomy and failed reconstruction due to infections. Needle biopsy of black tissue resulted in no malignancy but led to rare event of infection that required 4 surgeries. We need more doctors in this area so we do not overwhelm the docs we have.

The previous reviews are spot on. I also found her to be condescending and really was not interested in what I was saying. She also did a biopsy on me & showed no concern when the tumor continued to grow for months. After a 2nd opinion from a doctor that worked in the same cancer center, I was told she broke the basic golden rules that indicate something is very wrong. I ended up with breast cancer found in the tissue, not the tumor which is why the tumor was growing when in fact it should have shunk after the biopsy. End results I was further tested & recommended for a bilateral mastectomy. I wouldn’t go to her if you want common consideration & any level of breast cancer expertise.

The previous reviews were not recent but would have to agree. I found her to be condescending and really was not interested in what I was saying. It was a waste of a morning and my 9:30 appointment began at 10:15. Her staff was very friendly.

I was treated by Dr Dickson-Witmer 2 years ago and never left the review that I promised myself I would. I absolutely concur with the above reviews. Dr Dickson-Witmer was rude and condescending and was angry that I asked questions. I worked in the pathology lab for 20 years, so I knew what questions to ask. She recommended a psych consult when I became frustrated with her! Go to Penn!

My experience was horrible. As a primary care provider myself, I would never treat a patient as badly as she did me. Her care plan was already typed on the computer before she ever even met me, she recommended a lumpectomy with no reconstruction and was offended when I asked for a plastics consult to discuss this. She was rude and snippy. She told me I needed to see psych because I was upset about having breast cancer. Please do not go to her or waster valuable time! Also her office made follow up appointments for me without consulting me then got mad when I told them those appointments would not work with my work schedule. This is the least patient-centered care I have ever experienced in my life.

I went for a follow- up appointment with Dr. Dickson-Witmer only b/c Dr. Penman retired. I found Dr. Whitman and her PA’s to be judgmental and condescending. They made errors and I did not feel comfortable that my care was being handled correctly.

OMG TERRIBLE BEDSIDE MANNER. Christiana care is notorious for impatience but when it comes to breast cancer ladies, you will definitely want to go to PENN. Dr WITMER Will never in 100 years tell you that she biopsied the wrong area. She is DISHONEST AND CANT BE TRUSTED WITH YOUR HEALTHCARE NEEDS.

I wouldn't recommend her at all. I was referred to her after an abnormal mammogram. She was very condescending and unfriendly. Because I was very nervous about having breast cancer I dealt with it. She recommended that I have a biopsy done with her in which I did. After returning to her for the results she had a male intern in there with her. She appeared to be nice at first then she proceeds to whip open my gown embarrassing me in front of the intern. I knew then I would never return.

I would not recommend Dr. Dixon-Witmer. I found her to be condescending and dismissive. On my first appointment she didn’t even bother to introduce herself. When the mammograms and ultrasounds weren’t definitive she just said we will watch it. I pushed for the MRI which her PA said was the only definitive test. She seemed annoyed like she was patronizing me. Had the biopsy been malignant I would have gone to the University of Pennsylvania for treatment.
