Dismissed Concerns & Incomplete Care
I went to Memorial Hermann GoHealth Urgent Care with chest pain, tightness, palpitations, and shaking. Dr. Dino Nguyen dismissed my shortness of breath, saying I couldn’t be struggling if I was able to describe it. He paused when I listed a new medication, giving me a look that made me feel like he suspected I was an addict in withdrawal. He assumed anxiety despite me clarifying it wasn’t the issue and did not perform a physical exam—no heart or lung check, no BP recorded. The MA said they couldn’t get my BP due to shaking, but no one tried again manually. My chart falsely states a physical exam was done. Dr. Nguyen admitted the EKG wasn’t normal and said he wouldn’t fault me for going to the ER but left it up to me. He also dismissed indigestion (a known heart symptom in women) as GI-related. I ended up in the ER. I left feeling unheard, dismissed, unsafe, and shocked that no basic assessments were done for such serious symptoms.

Best urgent/emergency medicine experience I've had
Sliced my ear lobe nearly completely off and I was treated at Memorial Herman Urgent Care in Houston by Dr Nguyen. The were busy when I arrived. 5 families arriving about the same time or a little before me. The reception/intake team were calm, professional and quick. I don't believe I even got out of my seat...they handled everything and before I knew it I was in an office and was introduced to Dr. Nguyen. He looked at my ear and diagnosed the problem. Sounds easy, but he took time to tell me what he saw, how he would like treat it, and the expected outcome. He also took the time to tell what might got wrong and what he saw as his biggest concern. He numbed my ear, telling me exactly what he was doing and why. He was quick, skilled and had a great bedside manner. Easy to talk to with a sense of humor. Would see him as my PCP if I could. Next time...allow him to care for you. You'll be glad you did.

Got sick after a trip -- Nguyen was super understanding, based on my symptoms (which I clearly described) he diagnosed me with strep. In and out quickly. People are just giving him bad reviews because they don't understand that antibiotics hardly do anything, and most treatment for colds and upper respiratory infections are liquids, NSAIDs, and maybe a decongestant. Not the need to run a bunch of tests and get drugs that won't do anything. If he were a primary care doctor, I'd make him my primary.

Took my adult daughter who was experiencing stomach pain with fever to MHUC and Dr. Nguyen saw her. He told us there was nothing he could do because her symptoms were so vague. I asked him to run a urinalysis and he refused telling us that it would not help pinpoint her condition. We walked out without any help. I took her to MHMC ER where they did run a urinalysis and immediately diagnosed my daughter with a severe UTI and gave her antibiotics. Worst doctor ever!!! DO NOT TRUST THIS QUACK

Was seen by this doctor at MHUC and was diagnosed with allergies. I immediately went and had a second opinion by another doctor and it turned out I had an upper respiratory and ear infection. I had booked an on-line appointment and was almost immediately taken to a patient room but sat in there for 1 hour 30 minutes until the doctor came in. No one checked in on me during this time and no courtesy apology nor explanation for the delay was given by either the doctor or staff.
