Excellent Service Knowledgeable Doctor
Dr. Ichtertz is a very personable surgeon. He makes comfortable conversations outside and during surgery. He explains things well and gives thorough information about expectations pre and post op and what will happen during and after surgery. I had some problems with my body rejecting the stitches and had to go back to him for manual removal of some. He was very calming and was thorough with complete removal. Healing was quick and complete after this incident. I would recommend him to anyone and would go back to him in a heartbeat. My son went to him for his trigger finger surgery and was very happy with the results. My daughter went to him for a fractured shoulder and he was honest that it did not need surgery and just needed time to heal on its own. Which it did. My husband will be going to him for carpel tunnel surgery next month. And I expect he will have the best of care with Dr. Ichtertz!

Dr. Ichterz is the best!
Dr. Ichtertz is the best! His staff was very welcoming when I walked in the door. He is very knowledgeable and took his time explaining things to me. I had a carpal tunnel and cubical tunnel surgery done in Omaha. The surgery center was top notch from when I walked in the door to when I left. I had no pain and I was back to working the next day. I highly recommend him!

Highly Recommend Dr. Ichtertz!!
My experience with Dr. Ichtertz was no less than excellent! He is so knowledgable and so good at what he does. I had carpal tunnel surgery in January with no stitches! I was back to work the next day. Two months later I developed a "trigger" finger that hurt terribly. I scheduled an in-office visit with Dr. Ichtertz and after a 5 minute procedure, the finger was fixed. I'm about five weeks "post" trigger finger and six months "post" carpal tunnel surgery and my hand feels great. No stitches!! No major surgery! Dr. Ichtertz does amazing work!!

I highly recommend Dr. Ichtertz
My visits with Dr. Ichtertz were very informative and educational. He showed me my MRI results and walked me through the process of my surgery and told me what to expect after surgery. I came through my rotator cuff surgery with little pain and PT was very helpful in my recovery. He also preformed carpal tunnel surgery on both of my hands and I am very satisfied with the results. I would recommend Dr. Ichtertz to anyone looking for an orthopedic doctor.

Dr. Ichterz is one of the best. Takes time explaining things to the patient. He did my carpal tunnel on one hand in 2018 and the other one in 2019. And now I’m back for him to help me with some shoulder issues. I feel like we can conquer this thing.

Amazing doctor
Dr Ichtertz is great. He spent so much time talking me through my procedures, both before and after. He leaves you feeling like you’re in the right place. I had a challenging recovery due to my own impatience, but it went exactly the way he said it would. A year after my second tightrope procedure, I am pain free, and have full function of my hands again. Dr Ichtertz honestly gave me back my quality of life. Huge thanks to both Dr and staff. They are absolutely fantastic.

Dr. Ichtertz knows his stuff!
I've never been so comfortable in a doctors office. Even during surgery! Dr. Ichtertz is very knowledgeable. He personally called me Saturday after surgery to follow-up. He didn't have a nurse do it. I also communicated with the nurse via email before and after surgery, and she answered all my questions and responded quickly. Doctor's personality was so down to earth. The entire staff is incredible and should really pat themselves on the back.

Awesome Doctor!!
I had my trigger finger (thumb) fixed. I went in for my final checkup for it to make sure all was good. He’s a great listener and as I was telling him other issues I was having, he said it sounds like Carpal Tunnel. Tests were done and he was right, so I will have my Carpal Tunnel taken care of before the end of December. He took the time to listen and let me know what he thought.

Thumb Denerveration Surgery
In 2007, Dr. Ichtertz did carpal tunnel surgery and trigger thumb manipulation on both hands of my hands with excellent results. So when I started to have palm and thumb pain in both hands again, I of course went to Dr. Ichtertz. In July, 2022 Dr. Ichtertz performed a thumb denervation on my right hand . Prior to the surgery I was unable to hold hands with my grandchildren or grasp a glass without dropping it. Dr. Ichtertz took x-rays on my hands and discussed options. We discussed a less drastic, less expensive choice of thumb denervation which is very similar to carpal tunnel surgery with a recovery time of just a few days. Or the more drastic and more expensive surgery to remove a bone in my index fingers and replace it with a rolled tendon. This surgery would mean loss of use of my hands 6 months or more and having physical therapy to relearn to use by hands. Both options have nearly the same results. I am so glad I had the thumb denervation surgery. Life is back to normal.

Good people - great results!
Doc Ichtertz and staff are great at what they do. Common sense, least invasive approaches appear to be the norm with NE Hand and Shoulder Institute. My family and I along with a number of others we know have all had great outcomes for a variety of issues. Highly recommend!

I had a finger on each hand that I could no longer straighten. Went to two orthopedic surgeons, one that messed it up more, the other that said he couldn't do anything for me. Dr. Ichtertz took care of both fingers and I am now able to straighten them both out fully! He says what he can do and then he does it. I would recommend him to anyone.
