Dr. Bohay is Very Knowledgeable, Patient Friendly, I have had Excellent Care at OAM

I meet Dr. Bohan approximately 30 yrs ago. I had foot surgery by a podiatrist. My foot never got better. I had trouble walking & was in a lot of pain. Dr. Bohan corrected the problem. I healed with no complications. I got my life back. So very grateful. I recently broke my ankle. I was so happy to see Dr. Bohan was still practicing. He is great doctor. He is very compassiate. Dr. Bohan explained my problem so that my husband & I could understand. My surgery is coming up. Dr. Bohan reassured me he would take good care of me and fix me again. I left his office with great confidence that he will.

I had some toe surgery and the toe got infected into my foot, he wasn’t concerned at all. Luckily another oam surgeon saw me and sent me to infectious disease and in the end I lost half of my foot due to osteomyelitis due to Bohays carelessness.

I met Dr Bohay for the first time in 2020. I put off ankle replacement for as long as I could. Finally after a series of medical set backs and my ankle getting worse, I had the surgery in 2024. I am in the recovery period now and after 2 months my ankle is healed enough to put weight on it while still wearing my boot for 2 more weeks. I can’t wait to walk normal again. I thank Dr Bohay so much for his expertise and being an all round good guy.

Knowledgeable, caring and compassionate are the three words I would use to describe Dr. Bohay and his staff. After being injured in a work related accident, I was originally treated at a different facility. Dr. Bohay took over my care and treatment and gave me my life back.

I've been a patient of Dr. Bohay for many years. Meet him at Butterworth when I worked there, he is highly respected and I would recommend him. He is quick, little time spent waiting to see him. Talks directly to you by sitting down and looking you in the eyes. He is straight forward, honest and listens to your questions. Doesn't over sell additional therepies if not needed. He has help with planter fasciitis, and performed Achilles tendon surgery on both legs now. I would be happy with less scars but that is a me issue.

Dr. Bohay is very easy to talk with and was extremely helpful to me understand my injury. He was thorough in his explanation of my next steps. I appreciate that he gives you honest answers to your questions and allows time for understanding. I would highly recommend Dr. Bohay. He is a great physician who truly cares and takes the time to allow you to process information. You walk out of his office knowing you received top notch advice and care.

Doesn’t always push surgery first. He takes all of the patients physical conditions into consideration. He is friendly and compassionate in addition to a good surgeon (performed my left foot surgery in 2012).

He was very detailed and personable. He took the time to review my records, and explained the surgery and recovery in great detail , so I knew what to expect.

Front office staff and nurses were professional and friendly. Dr Bohay was very good at explaining what he needed to do so I could understand. He gave my son an excellent and thorough post-op report. I am very pleased with the care I am receiving.

I have been seeing Dr Bohay for years now. Dr’s in Muskegon couldn’t figure out I had a birth defect & told me I’d be in a wheelchair. Went to Dr Bohay & he fixed my up & I'm still walking today. No Dr’s from Muskegon for me.

I had been to two other doctors who ignored the pain I was in and what I was telling them. Dr Bohay took XRays, and listened to how I injured my foot. After the physical exam and comparison to the other foot he told me there is definitely something wrong and we are working on the next steps. I feel so relieved just knowing I've been heard, and there is a plan.

Bohay did evaluate my needs and performed the foot surgeries he recommended but the recovery time was much longer than originally expressed. He could explain the overall recovery time required for each step to better help plan best time to do this. The stiches from were really uneven and took a long time to heal because of all the large gaps. Its only my foot so I understand that no one is looking at it so it doesn’t have to be perfect but after 8 months the scarring is still pretty significant and is still sensitive to touch. Im working though this and it has definitely improved, just wish I had known before surgery really how long recovery was. Was told about 6 months but PT said it would be at least a year which seems more on track even for someone who is physically active.

Dr Bohay may be a great specialist, but he works at the worst possible office ever. The time management is unacceptable. Dr Bohay always runs an hour behind, giving priority to patients with surgeries. The receptionists never bother to call you and notify that the doctor is running late. Their patient relations and customer service are beyond terrible. Definitely switching to another office.
