Dr Dewey is great. I had stitches taken out. Most painful and traumatic experience ever I have ever had. It was worse than my brain surgery. Got sick on my stomach and almost passed out. The procedure and tools used need to be reevaluated. Was not asked if I was ok or needed anything before I was dismissed and no explanation was given as to how take care of my surgery wound.

Patient Centered Visits
Dr. Dewey has a unique and personalized way of treating his patients. More like a friend versus doctor and patient. He is genually concerned about why you've come to see him. He's a talented and unmatched surgeon and extremely thorough. I absolutely recommend him and his staff to anyone needing an orthopedic doctor or surgeon!

Great Doctor
Dr Dewey took the time to explain, not just what he was concerned about, but also a very informative and thorough explanation of why it and how to treat the problem. He is a thoughtful, kind, and very knowledgeable Doctor. I highly recommend him.

First Exam Impressions of Dr Dewey MCC Pensacola
First, as context, I am a retired Licensed Mental Health Counselor, FL, Licensed Social Worker, MA, with Certifications in Employee Assistance Programs, Professional Counseling, and Executive Coach & Career Development. Dr Dewey was the 3rd orthopedic hip replacement MD I have consulted or have had surgery with, over the last 12 months (I have had 10 major surgeries in my life, 5 of which were orthopedic in service delivery). He was the most engaging, most 'immediately informed coming into our first meeting together, and of importance to me as a patient, 'most human and understanding' of my complicated and multifaceted medical case.

No Recourse
Awful OutcomeFractured hip in 3 places after fall, Feb 2023. Used a cane prior to fall. After surgery: One leg shorter than other, extremely limited immobility (cannot walk without walker), balance practically nil, instability, even while standing still.Said later: “I should’ve done a hip replacement.” Status post surgery: Irreparable damage.

Great results after surgery
I started seeing Michael Bertagnolli, Dewey’s PA in February 2023. I tore my meniscus back in July 2022 and just dealt with the pain. After reviewing my results, my arthritis was extreme in my knees. Waited till the end of the work season to have surgery and I have to say, the surgery went perfect. I was expecting far more pain than Friend what I actually had. I immediately started doing physical therapy and I know this contributed to my quick recovery. I had zero bruising around my incision and I healed wonderfully. I had a quick setback about 24 hours after my surgery and Dr. Dewey was available at 3 o’clock in the morning. My caretaker was utterly impressed that he himself answered the phone and worked through my issue with me. His nursing staff are so kind, he just needs to work on the schedulers. I will use Dr. Dewey for my second knee replacement.

Best of the Best
Dr. Dewey replaced my right knee and treated me for other conditions. He provides excellent medical care and is a perfectionist. It is time to replace my other knee but I moved out of state so I cannot have him do this surgery. He is the best of the best in Orthopedic medicine. He works many long days and sees everyone. I highly recommend him.

Okay, I'm biased; Dr. Dewey is AMAZING!!!
Over the years, Dr. Dewey has replaced both hips and both knees. He fixed a lifelong issue of bow-leggedness that caused all kinds of other structural problems. He has a great "bedside" mannerism. His staff is very professional, and kind.

I was misdiagnosed with a torn ligament or torn tendon. The first MRI didn't show anything due to the machine not being strong enough. I was sent to physical therapy which only made it worse because they were treating it based on a misdiagnosis. The issue with my foot started in mid January. I finally got a nerve block in May, but it didn't help. I had to wait another six weeks to have a second MRI, the first one was in March. I was able to see the results in my portal Thursday after I had the MRI on Monday. I was never contacted about it. My rheumatologist talked to the orthopedist medical assistant and told them I needed a follow up appointment. This appointment was seven weeks after the MRI. I had an appointment at 8:00am and waited while the doctor talked to the nurse about his weekend for 20 minutes. Then, he went in to see another patient at 8:20am. Finally, about 8:50am the doctor comes in and tells me the MRI results. He says I don't need surgery, and he can give me a shot if t

Dr. Dewey is a doctor in a class of his own. He is caring and explains things to you where you can understand. He is never in a hurry,he spends the time needed with each patient. Unusual these days. In april 2014 I stepped down from a picnic table from a sitting position, maybe three inches, I had to have full shoulder and hip replacement. I will forever be grateful to GOD and Dr. Dewey
