Dr. Donald Leichter, MD

Dr Leichter was my son's Pediatric Cardiologist from 1992 until he was 22 years old. My entire family still thanks him for the patience, knowledge, kindness, and compassion shown throughout those years and beyond. Years later, I sent my daughter to him when she was expecting her first child, he was every bit as kind and caring as he'd been for 30 years. He is the best physician to have been in our lives, bar none.

I saw Dr. Leichter for a fetal echocardiogram and did not have a pleasant experience. The procedure required me to be laying flat, completely still for over an hour. This did not seem like too big a deal until you factor in restless legs, back pain, and GERD from pregnancy. I really was as still as possible but there were several times he snapped at me during - once for taking too deep a breath, once for a hiccup and some minor movements (I had to scratch my face). I was already overwhelmed being there and was doing my best, but his frustrated and cold nature made it seem like I was doing these things intentionally or not following directions.

Dr leichter performed open heart for me at the age of 1. He then perfomed bi-annual monitoring for me until I was 21. He is a great doctor. Calm and explains himself well. I would highly recommend.
