Dr. Berg stepped into my life at a very difficult time. I had entered Mercy Fairfield with excruciating abdominal pain. Dr. Berg saw me at my most vulnerable time. Including a knee replacement the previous day. Dr. Berg & his P.A. were calming my anxiety, explaining the nasal gastric tube process. He did what he needed, ordering testing & was able to clear a bowel blockage WITHOUT SURGERY. For that, I'm very thankful. If needed, he has a very grateful patient. Sincerely, Julie E.

Dr.Berg was great ! He did my appendectomy . I came in through ER & got surgery same day ! He was very knowledgeable and assured me I would start to feel better after surgery . Would definitely recommend.

Recent Friday evening I had abdominal pain unlike any before. Went to Mercy FF ER 8PM. CTscan showed enflamed gallbladder. By 1am pain subsided on its own. Head nurse phoned on-call surgeon at home, Dr. Douglas Berg, and we all agreed I would go home and if pain reoccurs, return right away. Otherwise phone Berg Monday and he would both see me and remove gallbladder that week. Pain worse Saturday PM so returned to ER. Same great head nurse phoned Berg at home again and he schedule surgery 8am the next morning, Sunday. Pre-op, Surgery and Post-op all empty except for us. Removal of gallbladder went fine. Dr. Berg thought there was a stone in the duct going into the duodenum wall and arranged for a specialist to take care of it first thing the next morning. He visited me in hospital room next day, explained and answered. 2-week follow-up was on time, listened and replied and advised cordially. Went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of in every possible way.

My experience with Dr. Berg was horrible. He allowed me to wait for two days with a bowel blockage. Finally a different surgeon saw me and I was in surgery in 1/2 hour. The second doctor saved my life. He was rude and refused to listen to me. NEVER would recommend him!

Very bad bed side manners. Incompetent. Nicked my artery during a simple port installation. Very rude to my family . Will never recommend him to anyone
