I am a woman of 67 years. Oak Harbor walk-in clinic referred me to Dr Dixon after seeing me for a worsening long term chronic cough, discomfort in chest & stomach, & ongoing debilitating bone/joint pain. I was provided with an exam, blood work, & chest X-rays. Nect day a nurse called to say X-rays showed multiple liaisons on my lungs and I needed a CT scan. When I met with Dr Dixon he not only ignored the first Dr’s order for a CT scan by saying in front of my husband, “How do I know I’m not just seeing a picture of how your lungs are”, but minimized everything I had been experiencing for a # of years. He insinuated debilitating bone/joint pain was just arthritis, prescribing OTC allergy and acid reflex meds for other issues. He repeatedly jumped to conclusions from ensuing tests, leading to misdiagnosis and prescriptions for meds all wrong for my real issue; multi focal metastatic disease (cancerous tumors). & his deliverance of THIS information was beyond unprofessional!

Dr Dixon was my PCP for a year. In my experience with him, he was rude, insensitive, very judgmental, didn’t listen or smirked & discounted personal info I tried sharing, rolled his eyes, and made abrupt decisions withholding medical treatment based on his rapid assessment without having any previous knowledge of my medical history or taking time to listen to my providing relevant information of Dercum’s Disease, a painful, incurable and progressive disease of which he had no knowledge. He made it clear he didn’t care to learn from me and had little empathy. He rolled his eyes, made demeaning comments and was quite clear he had no desire to see a chronic pain patient taking opioids. He blamed any symptoms I had on pain meds I’ve taken for 10 years to manage my debilitating pain & refused to treat my sinus infection. I lost my sense of taste and smell because of his prejudice. Three doctors after him assured me my symptoms weren’t related to my use of pain meds.

Over the years I have struggled with my diabetes. I had several doctors that did their best to get me on track yet none treated my condition as seriously as Dr. Dixon. I was off the charts with an A1C of almost 14 with two hernias that needed repaired. My surgeon would not operate on me in that condition. Dr. Dixon worked with me to take my almost 14 A1C down to a 6.8! He advocated for me with my surgeon. He was there for me in a very dark time when I didn't think there was hope. I am so grateful for the care I have received from him and the staff. I can report that my blood sugars are under control, I got the surgery I needed and in the process of healing. I HIGHLY recommend this doctor. He is friendly, personable, and totally transparent. He has helped change my life. forever grateful

I had such high hopes based on the office, but man were they dashed. Dr. Dixon consistently talked over me, often missing critical information in doing so. (I'm young and female, which may be relevant.) He provided minimal explanation, rushed through the appointment, and worst of all cauterized my nose WITHOUT MY CONSENT. (He asked if he could stick something up it, and didn't explain what it was until it was already in there.) Really not okay.

Dr Dixon treats the whole person. He takes time to ask pertinent questions, answer questions, and explain conditions/illnesses/medications. I have been very pleased with his care and advice as my family physician.

A friend recommended Dr. Dixon years ago, and I am very glad he did. I have referred several friends to Dr. Dixon in the years since. He and has staff were always friendly and accessible, I never had to wait more than a day for an appointment if I needed to be seen soon. His office wait times were some of the shortest I have ever encountered. I hate that I moved.

I found Dr. Dixon several years ago after being referred by a friend. While the office is small, the staff has always been great and I have never had to wait more than a day for an appointment when needed. I am seen quickly and have very little wait time in the waiting room. I am also in healthcare so I have high expectations of my personal physician and Dr. Dixon and his staff exceed those expectations. I have referred numerous friends to Dr. Dixon over the past few years. They love him

He treated my wife and me for one year and accused me unjustifiably of having a anger isssue and of being overly aggressive (I think he fareally too about profound fatigue). He discharged us both as patients, and would not see me one -on- one to explain, offering no factual support for his insulting action; in his waiting area instead from about 30 feet away said please leave. His off. Mgr had earlier offered He feels you can get better care elsewhere. He was right. Wife is much improve
