Negligent and rude
He is one of the ER doctors that leaves patients in life threatening situations. I have drug resistant diseases and refuses to call my specialists each time I’ve ended up at that hospital. This last time, I was admitted at a different hospital the same day I was discharged by him, saying everything looks great. I did not. My vitals did not. Labs did not. Speech still slurred, could barely stand from muscle weakness and legs not working right. He didn’t come to my room at all, but my file shows he did. It was a male nurse. Another time, it was Dr. Tacia, who left me in a very dangerous situation as well- he refused to call my specialists each time they were needed. Tacia was in my room, but McDowell was on ID band and papers. Two of my diseases can be fatal if not treated properly during emergency. Both doctors are horrible. If they seem nice to you, you got lucky. Changes need to be done starting at least 25 yrs ago. McDowell shouldn’t be working there or other places.

one star is too much! Terrible bedside manner. I have been in many er rooms and doctors offices with family members ( and am a former rn) and I have never seen a more arrogant doctor in my life. He needs a course in bedside manner !

He is a horrible doctor. Do not let this man help your children. He is a bumbling fool. It really shows the quality of Dickinson County Hospital. Why would a hospital hire such a fool? He is rude and disrespectful too.

His attitude is horrible. The way he makes his patients feel is uncalled for. I have dealt with him several times for myself, my children, and other family members over the years. If he is working there is no point going as he does not care. He will not explain anything, he will no offer any suggestions. He will get upset with you if you ask questions.
