My family and I are very fortunate to have been under the care of Dr. Politz and his staff. My daughter had a total thyroidectomy done by him in July and here we are 8 months later and I myself needed a right lobectomy. Both experiences were top-notch and I can not express my gratitude enough to Dr. Politz and his staff. From the very first phone call every staff member has been very caring. I had parathyroid surgery 10 years ago and they said they removed 3 parathyroid glands leaving me with one. My numbers were always high after surgery and then my calcium levels began to be in higher ranges. Having fought this for so long my doctor recommended I have the other parathyroid gland removed. I didn’t feel comfortable with my previous surgeon so I found Dr Politz online through the TGH website. When I had my phone interview with Dr Politz immediately I felt at ease and knew that he was the perfect man for my surgery. He knew exactly what was wrong in his hypothesis and surgery proved him correct. He is an amazing doctor who makes you feel like his own family member. Everyone on the team reflects his positive energy, humor and calming reassurance. I love this team and highly recommend Dr Politz if you have parathyroid disease and especially if you have had a prior surgery!

I have access to many top-notch hospitals in my local community. Despite this, I traveled across the state to receive care from Dr. Lopez and Dr. Politz at Tampa General Hospital. Finding two highly skilled parathyroid surgeons with extensive experience in the most complicated cases, including reoperations, was extremely reassuring. In the year leading up to the surgery, my health was declining. I had extensive bone pain, fatigue, and brain fog limiting my ability to work as a registered nurse. Right before the surgery, I was also diagnosed with osteoporosis. He suggested a surgical procedure that evaluated all four parathyroid glands to make sure no tumors remained. After the surgery, I gradually started to feel better, and the symptoms completely resolved. My recovery period was quick and relatively pain-free. I felt well enough to go out for dinner the following day. I regained my full and active life. Thank you, Dr. Lopez and Dr. Politz! I am forever grateful.

My experience with Dr. Politz was extremely positive and professional. From the first phone call with him to explain the procedure, to his visit the day of and follow-up call that evening, he was straight-forward, explained things clearly and reassured me of all concerns. His office nurses were also professional in handing all details with scheduling, insurance, and pre- and post-op instructions. The surgical staff was excellent, especially the nurse who helped me through my fears of the pre-op scan. This over and above service was very effective and helped me to be a better patient. I would highly recommend Dr. Politz and his team for high-quality professional care.

Professional and friendly interactions with Dr. Politz and staff involved with my treatment. Initial appointment was by telehealth followed with surgery 10 days later. I felt comfortable that I was fully informed of the aspects of the procedure and recovery. My treatment was exceptional under the circumstances.

Dr. Politz was recommended through every doctor we've ever come into contact with regarding my parathyroid. During our initial call, day of, and post - he has been fantastic. His team has been fantastic. If you have the best within your travel circle, you should make it happen.

Dr Politz is an excellent compassionate surgeon. I was anxious about surgery because I had had previous surgery in 2014 in NYC. I also have Hashimoto disease so I was concerned about possible complications. However my endocrinologist highly recommended Dr Politz and he was right! Immediately after surgery my bone pain disappeared. I am optimistic about regaining my health fully due to the expertise and dedication of this fine surgeon and his caring staff.

From my initial contact with the office to Dr Politz’s call the night of the surgery everything was outstanding. The personnel in his office, nurses, directions etc were exact and prompt. Dr Politz was fantastic in the initial phone conversation as well as before, during and after the surgery The secretaries, nurses and technologists were all top quality I give them all 10 gold stars out of five!

Dr. Politz is fantastic. Having him as my surgeon was a great experience. During our tele-visit he answered my questions, took my worries away and was the first person to explain what was happening with my body with primary hyperparathyroidism. He is always friendly and kind and made me feel comfortable. On surgery day I had 0 worries when they brought me to the OR. Everyone at Tampa General is fantastic. The nurses were the nicest nurses ever, the anesthesiologist made me laugh so much (and made my husband some very good coffee). I am feeling fantastic 1 week post op and the scar is already looking great! Thank you Dr. Politz!

From the moment we walked in the door, everyone was extremely friendly and helpful in making me feel comfortable and prepared. Everyone was so amazing, and I cannot speak highly enough of the staff and their entire team of doctors and nurses. If I ever needed to go back, I know that I would be in good hands.

Outstanding! He and his team were professional and explained pre op, post op and recovery throughly. Could not be more pleased. Dr. Politz called the evening after surgery to check on me at the hotel. He again called me when pathology report came back a week after surgery. I would recommend him and his team to my friends and associates.

Dr. Politz gave me excellent care. He was friendly, kind and made me feel comfortable before my surgery. I went into surgery with a positive attitude. His skills are obvious because the scar can barely be seen. More than that, I was well prepared before and after the surgery. I highly recommend the team at TGH. The whole team was excellent.
