May be wonderful as a surgeon, but zero kindness
Unfortunately, my experience with Dr. Whitten was terrible. He made no effort to understand my complicated situation and was standing up to head out of the office within less than 10 minutes and not even examining my leg. I had to stop him to ask questions, and he was irritated at that. With a wait time for joint replacement of 11-12 months, even if he is an excellent surgeon, he needs to be a kinder doctor. His advice was 'join a gym' without asking if I already did. To have confidence in a doctor, I need him to at least attempt to understand more than just the joint he is replacing. Moving on....
What went well
  • Staff friendliness
What could be improved
  • I didn't feel respected
  • Difficult to schedule appointment
  • Didn't listen or answer questions
  • Appointment was rushed
  • Didn't trust the provider's decisions

Worst “doctor “ ever…
This so called “doctor” should go back to school and learn a little bit more about ethics and orthopedic surgery. I had the “luck” to deal with this “doctor”. Started seeing him about 2 years ago bcs a bad knee ..bone on bone! Was in need of total knee replacement. I was told by this “doctor” that the recovery would take at least 8-10 months and he as a “doctor” would advise me to try to push it as long as o can if the pain it still bearable and I can somehow do my job. Ok. Fast forward to 2024 end of July the pain became unbearable. Called his office for an appointment..no problem I got one…4 weeks later..a phone appointment. I was told that I’m 15 lbs overweight for a surgery and anyway the waiting is about 6 months. I had no choice but to fly to Europe to get my surgery where it was no problem about the 15 lbs. When I got back he was very dismissive and told me that the doctors in Europe are stupid and I would have problems. Now 2 months later I’m walking without any pain or problem
