Dr. Douglas York, MD

I experience a hernia bulge, found Dr. York on Healthgrades, and was able to get an appointment in less than a week. Staff was great, appointment was on time. Dr. was very knowledgeable, answered all my questions and gave me options for treatment. I was very satisfied with my visit.

I’ve not been through a surgery or hospital process before and I have to just say thank you so much.Called on a Monday and got an appointment set for Friday the same week.Saw Dr York and was fortunate enough to get a cancellation they had the following Tuesday.Hernia surgery is no fun, but Dr York and the whole team at the Oregon Clinic made the experience as smooth as one could expect. Two weeks have passed and still on the mend but I’m very grateful for everything the folks there did for me. Amazing team of professionals. Thank you all.

Dr was prompt and to the point, explaining with diagrams and explain the difference between waiting and surgery. A Reachable when I had a question and when emailed responded promptly.

I write this review today with a thankful heart having recently had surgery with Dr York of the Oregon Clinic at Providence St. Vincent hospital. I have benefited from the hard work, education and years of training of Douglas York…an extremely knowledgable and personable doctor who bring medical knowledge and build rapport so that the message is heard by myself the patient…and therefore delivered! The entire staff is wonderful…was ensured I had a smooth prep, surgery, and follow-up. I am so glad I chose the Oregon Clinic and would highly recommend to anyone. I enthusiastically recommend Dr. York to anyone seeking a kind, compassionate, and brilliant doctor!

Dr. York was so professional and kind. He answered all of my questions and made sure I felt comfortable and informed about my procedure. My husband appreciated the communication from Dr. York while I was in recovery. I would recommend him and his staff very highly.

I recently had a procedure by Dr York to remove a large lipoma. I would strongly recommend Dr York based on my experience, he explained and answered my questions directly, and was sensitive to leaving a minimal scar yet removing tissue as necessary. Since there was local pain management ( not anaethesia ) I can say that I was pleasantly surprised not to feel any pain during the procedure, and very little afterwards. The entire visit was a better experience than expected, and his assistant was pleasant and helpful.

After Dr. York received my ultra sound, I had an appointment to meet with him on the 24th for the first time. I had a hernia, and he advised surgery, and on the 28th he fixed it! Boy, that was fast, and everything about the primary visit, to everything that involved the surgery, was a good thing for me, being 83 and having my "first" surgery! He and his team were professional, knowledgeable, and actually fun to be with! I thank the Lord for them all, and I am feeling well, in my 10th day since the surgery.

Dr York was very timely in seeing me. Came in and was familiar with my ultrasound and was very confident in his demeanor and his recommended treatment. Good explanation of my situation and what I can expect after surgery.

Dr. York just performed gallbladder surgery on my 82 year old mother and was kind, compassionate, communicative and delivered the most excellent care. Frankly, he was the most personable surgeon I've ever met.

Dr. York was very thorough, personable and professional. Excellent surgeon. I had very minimal scaring after laparoscopic surgery to remove gall bladder. More discomfort than pain following surgery. The office staff is very friendly and attentive. Excellent experience with Dr. York and staff. Highly recommend.

My dealings with Dr. York have been nothing but great. I've found him to be kind, attentive to my concerns and very caring, with a great bedside manner. In fact, his thorough approach to my issue helped uncover another problem I didn't even know about and was able to also get corrected. I would highly recommend Dr. York to anyone asking for a skilled and compassionate surgeon.

I had the unfortunate experience of spending a month in the hospital after back to back emergency surgeries. Dr. York visited me everyday and took the time to really listen to how I was doing. He gave me hope in dark times but was also very honest with me about my recovery. I couldn't have imagined this experience with any other surgeon. An outstanding doctor all around.

Excellent bedside manner as he was very courteous and thoughtful. Explained my problem and the surgery to me well. Would certainly recommend him to others in my family.

My experience with Dr York wasn't good. He made me feel like I was making up the amount of pain I was and kept down playing it all. He told me for my gallbladder to watch my diet, and take over the counter pain medication. I tried to explain to him that none of these things were helping. I ended up going to another doctor which I had surgery right away and the condition of my gallbladder was very bad.. I had even asked Dr York if he looked at my ultra sound and he said yes like so what!
