Idiot
I was a patient of Dr Edge back in 2019-early 2020. After returning from a conference in Atlanta and talking with a fellow laborarian from the CDC about the new Corona virus, I shared what was discussed with him. He stated and I quote, “That virus is just a mainstream media propaganda made up to scare people “Being a clinical scientist and knowing this was not a hoax, I immediately left his office and never returned. Later, his office would become riddled with COVID infections simply because he was too biased and stupid to look at the evidence.

What year is it?!
No Web site. No way to communicate other calling or showing up in person. Office staff are snooty and rude. My first two appointments were rescheduled because I guess he decided to take those days off. Neither rescheduled appointment happened on time. I called to get a refill on my RX's that he only wrote for 30 days (no refills) instead of 90 days (1 refill) and was informed that he now wants to see his patients every 3 months instead of every 6 months. I guess he wants to get rid of his patients because I can't justify doubling what I spend on doctor visits, time off work, and gas/miles on my car. I've been on both of these meds for 10+ years and my previous doctors ALWAYS wrote them for 90 days with 1 refill. On the plus side, Dr. Edge seems competent, thorough, and caring. The blood lady is also very nice and competent. I guess if you have great insurance, are local, and have lots of free time, go for it, but if you work and are on a high deductible health plan, look elsewhere.

Staff is Awful
If you can get an appointment too the doctor, he is attentive and thorough. However, the staff is an enormous stumbling block. The office is only open 27 hrs/wk and the staff rarely answers the phone, and there is no voicemail. Calls are sometimes diverted to an answering service. The staff completely ignores referrals and test results, often saying “it’s with the doctor. There’s nothing we can do.” So, the only way to check on the status of deferrals or test results is to make an appointment. Then be prepared for the doctor to be surprised that his staff never actioned them, and this begin the entire cycle again. I’m currently on my 2nd month of waiting for a referral, even after 2 appointments. It is a shame because the doctor seems caring and thorough; but this is of no benefit if you cannot receive the follow-up care that is often needed.

Superb Doc
Very caring and personable. I enjoy seeing him quite a lot. Like most doctor's offices, the staff is cranky and unfriendly, like dealing with customers will always do to a person. Judging by these other comments, they are sick of people who come in thinking their problems are worse than all the others that need to see him. I don't blame them at all. Useful information: He will prescribe you what you need in a timely manner, if it doesn't work out he'll try something else. He has a blood lab in office so you don't have to go anywhere else for labs, and they are done relatively quickly. He also gave me his cell phone number in case something comes up after hours, I can text him and he can take care of things without an extra office visit. He's amazing, if you are as understanding and patient as you expect him to be.

All about the money
Right off the bat, it was all about money. Not about patient care, about whether the Dr can make money easily without any effort. Wanted all of our personal medical information without us even knowing whethere he could handle 'our' needs. Run people, run. Commented about wanting narcotics. This Dr evidently isn't interested in patient care, just the insurance money. Insulting. 67 years old, no prescriptions at all. Would like a physician that fits 'our' needs. That wasn't even discussed. Sad, very sad. I'd like a resume on him and his abilities. They are evidently limited. Anyone know a physician with skills in the area. Maybe he's just too old to handle modern medicine. Come in and get paperwork. Use the internet like the real world. Cant' even send records to this Dr he's so out of touch. We have never recieved treatment from him.

Really like Dr Edge. He takes his time with you and answers all your questions. When you make an appointment, your wait time is minimal.

Dr Edge has been treating my wife and I for 20 years. He has on two occasions saved my life by his recommendations. He doesn't know everything and neither does any other doctor, but unlike other doctors that think they do, he wont try to keep you to himself if another doctor would be more appropriate. He will advise who will be able to treat you and his office will make the appointment for you. I am 82 and expect to reach at least 120 with his care.

Dr. Edge is one of the most caring physicians I have had as my doctor. He takes a personal interest in each patient's health and well-being. The staff has changed in the last few years and they are not nearly as efficient or friendly as the previous staff was, but I can put up with that because I have utmost confidence in Dr. Edge.

Kind, caring, compassionate. Best in the area. Very capable and experienced. Dr. Edge never rushes you through. He makes no attempt to walk out without being certain you have no further questions and are completely finished visiting with him. Has the old time country doctor attitude and really cares about his patients!

It is too bad there aren't more doctors in the area. Front and back office staff are terrible and condescending. Specifically for the doctor-having labs and xrays ordered-he does NOT look at the results. They are just tucked away in your file, if retrieved at all. If you have any need for a REAL doctor, don't see this guy!! Total quack!!

Was assigned to this patient collector while a pt in a nursing home. In 6 days, he never came to check me out. He did bill my insurance company for a COMPLETE PHYSICAL EXAM. I will be filing fraud complaints about him to the state, insurance board, Medicare, etc. He did write a pile of prescriptions for me for conditions I didn't have. Only contact - dapper dr. appeared at my door in fancy suit telling me he was my dr but he hadn't read my file. He is DISHONEST. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

I've been his patient for 12yrs. (Only because he's close & because he takes our ins.) & I have to say that he doesn't have a good bed side manner at all. You never know when he will actually be in the office The office hrs. & days are always changing, as well as the staff. During your visit he doesn't fully listen & he always makes you feel like he doesn't believe what you're telling him. Like I said I only stay with him because it's close, he takes my ins., & I really hate changing doctors !!
