Dr. Leonhardt is the best internist we have had, and that considers several decades. When my elderly father's health was slipping we moved him to Lincoln from Illinois, to live with us. Suspecting Dad had an injury he wouldn't disclose, I took him to an orthopedic  doctor, who treated Dad for his partially torn rotator cuff and referred him to Dr. Leonhardt. Dr Leonhardt was fantastic; great bedside manner, a sharp logical approach to care, nothing extra and nothing withheld in care. Plus he bolstered my dad's spirit in an amazing way. I told my husband, we've got to have this doctor if his patient load will bear a couple new people. Dr Leonhardt became our primary care doctor and again, he was fantastic! Five years later we moved 500 miles away and I've actually thought about commuting back to my "good" doctor, but that isn't a reasonable thing to do. Always looking for a doctor who is even half as good as Dr Leonhardt.

I have never met a doctor who so carefully listens to his patient. He is respectful and gives much thought to what you are saying. He connects the dots and then orders the tests necessary to confirm the diagnosis. He is honest with his answers. He is extremely knowledgeable and keeps up with the latest in the field of internal. I trust him completely. Have been with him for 20 years and have never had a negative experience. Highly recommend him!

Highly recommend this Doctor. He treats patients and nurses with respect and he can tell a bad joke.
