Listens and remembers my history despite having many many other patients who suffer the same illness. Willing to consider me and my input as intelligent, unlike a number of neurolgists I have consulted. Worked with a long difficult to treat illness with patience and compassion.

Dr. Joelson is extraordinary. He is one of the few neurologists that specializes in chronic headaches, and his experience with serious headaches is far beyond anyone I have ever seen. Having had migraines for more than 30 years and seeking treatment from so many specialists, Dr. Joelson is orders of magnitude above the rest. Finally, my migraines are under control, solely thanks to this doctor.

In terms of medical knowledge, Dr. Joelson knows about as much as any Neurologist you can see at PAMF. However, when it comes to human compassion and understanding for what his patients are going through, this guy really doesn't have a clue. If you have very serious concerns, or need someone that will truly care about your well-being as a whole person (and not just a list of symptoms), do yourself a favor and schedule with someone else.
