Most doctors feel justified in charging a patient for not showing up for a scheduled appointment. What is a patient’s recourse when the doctor’s scheduler fails to enter the correct, agreed-upon day for an appointment into the practice’s computer system? A reasonable person, being turned away by the receptionist after arriving “on time” might expect to feel stressed, especially given the fact that he is already ill. To be told to “come back in 24 hours” without so much as her exploring the possibility that the error was ultimately the fault of the “provider” is a most inequitable rendering of consequences. The office manager also chimed in with a “take-it-or-leave-it” stance without ever investigating the situation with their out-of-state corporate scheduling service.Layer this turn of events on the fact that I had been a patient at the practice since 1988, and it becomes the epitaph for “Maitland Family Practice” after it succumbed to the Advent Health System behemoth.

My 86 year old father was in the ER and admitted for over a week. I could not reach anyone at Dr. Waldheim's office. I could not leave a message b/c the phone beeped and then cut me off cut me off. I had the same experience 3 times. I got an answering service in the Philippines. There was no on call physician resource. After she got out of the hospital after a week, we were told that the doctor could see her in 3 months. We saw an NP instead. A week later she was back in the ER. I called the office gain. Same experience. Finally got through to the answering service. This doctor cannot be relied upon in times of medical emergency. He relies on others.

Dr. Waldheim lends a most attentive ear and exhibits great personal and professional care for his patients. He is also most ethical and a man of solid personal beliefs in God.

Dr Waldheim sits and listens to what you have to say. He also goes the extra mile to make sure you truly understand what’s going on so a person can make an informed decision. I have also observed Dr Waldheim as he visits patients in the hospital and an assisted living facility I work at. He is a caring person who seems to place his patients in the forefront of his mind. His staff seems to think the world of him too, which I think says a lot. I left my doctor of over 30 years to switch when he had an open slot…I was a little envious of my wife and daughter who were with him and his partner’s practice. Second best decision I ever made.

I could write a book on the misdeeds of this doctor. No 0 on this so I had to give him one star.

Not recommend. - seems to care very little for problems affecting patient. Patient with implanted sensors for spinal stenosis was denied renewing disabled parking permit since he did not use crutch or cane. Worried about “breaking law”. Was not trying to pull a sham, asking for renewal. When I left he said “good luck finding another physician”. Went home and made appointment with new physician. HA, HA, HA

Have been with Dr. Waldheim for over 10 years. Very caring and thorough Dr. Wouldn't change him for anyone.

I saw Dr. Waldheim last night as a new patient. He took quality time with me. He really listened to my long list. He showed great kindness, understanding and wisdom.

Dr Waldheim is great-he really listens to you and never makes you feel rushed. He is very kind and understanding. He has been my doctor for over ten years and i truly trust him!
