I can't thank Dr. Fernandez enough for what he did for me. I went in on June 6, 2021 with a Comminuted Fracture of the Left Patella (Shattered Knee Cap). Dr. Fernandez was very professional and walked me through in detail through all my options. He was completely honest about everything. He performed surgery on June 15, 2021 and took his time in the OR making sure his work was perfect. Every check-up after that, Dr. Fernandez was always present and showed me my progress. Due to the intensity of the fracture I thought I was not going to walk the same again, but as of today, I am back to normal. I recovered my day to day routines of going to work and even going back to the gym. One of the best orthopedic surgeons in El Paso, Tx. I will forever be grateful for everything Dr. Fernandez and his entire staff at Border City Orthopedics did for me.Jo

In 2015 my husband, Chuck, fell and broke his right elbow. We met Dr, Fernandez at Providence on 375 then. It was a 7 hr surgery. With the recommended therapy he has never had a problem. We now have an appointment on Feb 1st because Chuck missed a step and fell backwards hitting the corner of a table. He has multiple fractured ribs on the left side as with the scapula also on the same side. We have recommended Dr Fernandez many times.

Dr. Fernandez is AWESOME! My daughter had 2 knee surgeries. The first one was an ACL reconstruction and three months later after an accident she needed a second surgery for a meniscus tear. Dr. took his time explaining to us both procedures and answered any questions we had. After surgery my daughter was referred to therapy and now she is doing what she loves, playing sports. Would highly recommend Dr. Fernandez and his staff. Staff is very friendly April, Sonia answered my emails and calls on a timely manner. Thank you Dr. Fernandez!

Dr. Edgar Fernandez did a fine job repairing my rotator cuff. I had a lot of pain the first month after surgery. About 60 days after my surgery I began thinking I may have done the right thing as I began seeing progress during physical therapy. I'm now over 90 days past my surgery and I am going to start playing golf and softball again. I am 71 years old. But fair warning. Shoulder surgery is not for sissies. It is going to hurt and the pain killing drugs are not you friend!

Terrible experience. Told me he needed to take X-rays to check if there was any cartilage under my kneecap when he received the X-rays he told me that X-rays don't show cartilage, so the X-rays weren't really needed. With the pain and swelling I am unable to put pressure on my right leg and he told me I needed to start walking on it again. Left there with more questions about my knee injury than I went in with.

Dr Fernandez is AWESOME! He actually takes the time to talk to you before running tests. Other places, it was like I was on an assembly line, where the wait time was longer than the actual procedure (x-rays, consult, etc). And... his staff is fantastic. They all greet you when you walk in (by 3rd visit). If you are having problems w/ pre-op tests and results, just call and they will take care of it - helps alleviate stress. You wont' be disappointed. He is young, but knows his stuff. 3!!
