Dr. Edgardo Malacaman, MD

4 week old breast fed baby had grown 12oz in a week. Still, It was suggested to us that she is not eating enough and supplemental formula was suggested to increase her feedings to ultimately relieve gas issues she was/is having. Couldn't have disagreed more with this doc, especially since no test done. Additionally, Office staff told us what insurance is accepted. At our second visit with the new insurance for the baby, we were denied coverage and were told we had the wrong insurance.

I have generally been pleased with Dr. Malacaman, however the front desk staff can be very rude and difficult to deal with. Daughters prescription needed refilled (was written by CNP). Could not refill due to CNP leaving the practice. When prescription was written we were never told we would need to be seen every 3-6 months. Now daughter is nearly out of meds and we were told to take her somewhere else. Also told they do not call patients to remind of appointments. Very poor service.

He is very thorough and what I like the most is he does NOT prescribe antibiotics right off the bat. He is also accessible almost all of the time.

Dr. Malacaman's bedside manners are very nice, he is spending enough time with us, checking on my son and answering each and every question I have. His approach is very much in line with my husband's and mine, he allows the child's body fight the disease first but he doesn't hesitate to prescribe medication when it is absolutely needed. The practitioner nurse, Miss Beth, is also very knowledgeable and very kind. The staff is professional, friendly and warm and we appreciate all their help!

Dr. Malacaman is wonderful! His bedside manner is exactly what I was looking for in a pediatrician. My children always feel comfortable and now love going to see Dr Malacaman and the nurse practitioner, Beth. I never feel rushed and always leave with all my concerns addressed. The girls in the office are great as well. Amazing team and quality care!

Dr. Malacaman's bedside manner puts the children (and parents) more at ease. He ensures parents understand the diagnosis/instructions completely. I really like that he talks TO his patients, not just ABOUT them. His style may be different than typical pediatricians, but I think it's great!
