AVOID SCOTT FRANKEL AND ORTHOARIZONA! He and this company made a surprise demand for a large pre-payment for a scheduled surgery only 11 days before the surgery itself. No alternatives to paying this were provided. I had to cancel the surgery because I couldn't afford the pre-payment. It's not even something patients legally have to do, and they asked for their own 'estimate' of what the insurance company will bill, not the actual amount. Despite this, they refused my request to void the bill for the pre-surgery exam! I have taken them to small claims court over this, and filed a complaint with the Arizona Board of Medicine and the Better Business Bureau. They should not try to take advantage of low- to middle-income people like this. Pre-payment requests are unjustified, and Scott Frankel authorized this. Very poor business practice!

Dr Frankel is an absolute professional! Generous with his time, he gave a clear explanation of treatment options. All with a kind, gentle demeanor. This is a very busy office and every individual from check in to check out was professional and kind!

I went to Dr Frankel for arthritis pain in my hands and that was not discussed during my visit. I felt that Dr Frankel was not interested in what I felt was a problem. In my opinion he was not at all friendly nor in anything I had to say.

The appointment was on time and Dr. Frankel listened and explained well what was going on with my thumb. He was very friendly and even took personal interest in my family and holiday plans. He gave me a steroid shot and there’s a good chance I won’t need anymore care. My sister highly recommended him and had a similar experience with her hand. Dr Frankle is very gental and kind. He spends time with his patients and answers all questions and soothes your concerns. Dr Frankle and his staff are very respectful and understanding with my mom who has dementia. I appreciate how professional him, his back and front office staff are.

Dr. Frankel was very informative! He explained everything to me, what would be happening after surgery and how long a recovery is going to be. I’m at 6 weeks, and doing well, so he’s very pleased.
