Miracle Worker
Dr. Maurin is an excellent neurosurgeon. He operated on my low back in May of 2014 and 10 years later my back is still doing good. Before surgery I was bedridden with excruciating pain. I could barely walk. My husband and I appreciated his thorough explanation of my condition and the surgery that I needed. He is truthful and tries to help patients understand possible outcomes of their surgery so patients can make informed decisions. I can't thank him enough.

Dr. Maurin was dismissive and disrespectful to me from the onslaught of our meeting. He accuse me of falsifying my medical records from Texas and exaggerating my medical needs. He accuse me of lying and seeking unneeded medical procedures. He said that I had convinced other neurosurgeons to do unnecessary work on me. With a VP shunt and a LP fusion. He said that given the chance he would remove my hardware and send me on my way without any other help. He couldn’t understand how a 37-year-old man could need the surgery and pain medication that I needed because of my extensive injury in the military. He nickname me his problem Child which his office staff and auxiliary staff continued to call me. He had no respect for my dignity no respect for my concern or my overall torrents. He is by far the worst neurosurgeon that I have seen out of the dozen or so that I have interacted with. I have never met a Neurosurgeon that was so unconcerned with his patience problems as this doctor.

Dr. Maurin was very polite. He explained to my wife and I how much experienced he had in preforming the surgical procedure, results of other patients he had operated on, and what our expected results should be, a 50% to 90% reduction in overall nerve pain with a 50% decrease in my wife's medication dosage. Our end result was zero improvement, zero decrease in medications, and zero satisfaction. This was our last hope for pain alleviation for my wife. Dr. Maurin wanted to try another treatmen
