Dr. Murphy gave me my Life back!
I am honestly surprised Dr. Murphy is not teaching at MIT, Berkeley or Stanford. I guess it is his dedication to help patients and the infrastructure at the Heart Center in GR helps. In my opinion: Dr. Murphy is one of the BEST surgeons in the country!What a wonderful, caring, SUPER-EDUCATED and SKILLED surgeon!Thank you Dr. Murphy!!

Bad Experience
My husband had open heart surgery in mid-May by Dr. Murphy and suffered a stroke during surgery. It took three weeks to confirm, only due to our getting Palliative Care involved. We were told that nothing could have been done IF he truly did have a stroke. Our lives have been forever changed. My husband can no longer drive, ride a bike, climb stairs or any of the activities he enjoyed in the past. I have deep regrets not having gone to Cleveland Clinic where they have protocol for a person suffering a stroke during surgery. It was NOT the case at the Meijer Heart Center and we fell through the cracks.

I thankful for his patience in answering all my questions abd listening to me, he makes you feel like your part of the team and important. He is highly rated abd I believe is an excellent doctor.
