We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Elena Ratner for her tremendous help and support for our daughter. Our 12-year-old girl was admitted to Yale on February 14, 2024, in an emergency, feeling extremely bloated and weak. After emergency surgeries to drain the fluid and collect biopsies, we received the diagnosis of stage 4 ovarian cancer. The team was incredibly careful and delicate, yet proactive in initiating immediate chemotherapy, which lasted for 12 weeks. Throughout this time, the entire team was in constant communication, providing full transparency and support whenever needed. The final surgery was scheduled for early June, and the team conducted multiple calls to review alternative options to secure the best outcome, with a focus on preserving our daughter's ovaries and overall health. Fortunately, the treatment was so effective that a laparoscopic surgery was performed instead of the initially discussed open surgery- our girl recovered very quickly. Thank you!

I had a giant 14cm complex ovarian cyst and needed surgery as soon as possible. Dr. Ratner understood the time sensitive nature of the condition and treated me like family - she ordered and reviewed an MRI early and even set aside surgery time in advance. She is a renowned expert in her field (she came highly recommended by others in the medical field) and was able to remove a giant half-foot mass thru a small incision via laparoscopic surgery without rupturing it. She is truly the best.

Best Doctor in her specialty. She is caring, compassionate, understanding, and supported us all thro in our journey before a need surgery is to be done. Always a pleasure to see her, even though its a Dr. Visit. Even though the wait to see may be abit long most times, I know she is giving those patients the same attention she will give me. So I am ok to wait till she comes. Bless her heart!
