fantastic results
I was diagnosed with severe spinal canal stenosis of L4 and L5. The main symptom was leg pain. After much research, Dr Dagnew was our selected surgeon. His office staff was very attentive. He and his surgical team provided me with care, understanding, and great explanations. Dr Dagnew explained what was needed, what could be negative results, and what would be my recovery. I had the surgery on September 11, 2024. Within 12 hours of surgery, I was able to walk in hospital with NO leg pain. This was fantastic. NO pain. I could walk again. I could not believe it. It is now post 3 months surgery. The leg pain never ever returned. I am doing some PT to help with common backpain post surgery.

Pain Free and grateful
I had a back surgery recently by Dr Dagnew. I am pain free and able to walk without any problem for the first time in years. Dr Dagnew is very caring and has the best bedside manner. He is an excellent surgeon. I was referred to him by a friend that also had back surgery and is pain free. If you have any problems with your back Dr Dagnew is the surgeon to see. I will only trust him with my spine.

Disappointed and lost
I was seen for neck pain with history of L-spine surgery. They found I had multiple issues. 1st told I may need Lumbar fusion, after surgical consult with Dr. Dagnew I was told a disc in my tspine may be causes issues from pushing on my spinal cord. Then referred to neurology. After 5 visits with Neuro. They confirmed there were 2 disc pressing on the cord , that was causes the leg weakness, pain etc. Now back to see Dr. Dagnew for another surgical consult. I drove 2 hours & waiting for over an hour to be told he never showed up for our visit. Then the NP keep apologizing to me and told me no running, falling and be careful in cars till this was addressed that Dr. Dagnew would call me later. He never did. I called office manager or whoever she was? Days later he called and said he was not sure of the results, then sent a referral to Emory Clinic who said they never received the referral. I called Dr's Dagnews office 4 times and still waiting 5 months later. Shocked, sad

Doctor does not listen to the patient.
We never even got a visit because the physician kept trying to refer us to a pediatric clinic that we had not been seen at in over 20 years.

Great Surgeon!
I had a spinal fusion/laminectomy. Dr. Dagnew explained the procedure thoroughly. My back has no pain! My neuropathy is going away. I couldn’t be more pleased. Dr Dagnew takes his time with you and listens to you. He is an expert in his field and the title is well deserved. I wish more doctors were like him. I was so fortunate he took me as a patient. Couldn’t be in better hands!

This man is pure Gold I’m my book
Dr Dagnew is very thorough. That was evident when a nurse said, “ Dr Dagnew makes sure everything it right! He’s very thorough!” I told her I was happy to hear it - even though it make make her work a little tougher. I had a spinal laminectomy/ fusion and my back doesn’t hurt at all! My hip that was replaced somewhere else and all my other joints hurt - but not my back!!!! CHOOSE THIS DOCTOR!!!

Life saving situation
Dr. Dagnew took the time to have a Stress Test performed prior to back surgery, and I believe he saved my life. The stress test showed blockages in major heart arteries. This led to my seeing a specialist that performed open heart surgery without which I probably would have lost my life. Dr. Dagnew is extremely considerate of his patients welfare. I would highly recommend him to anyone seeking his expertise.

This guy maybe a good surgeon. I will never know.. However, his exam was terrible. I have had more extensive exams by a third year medical student. He did not seem interested in my problem, since I did not need surgery. I advised him as to what treatment I had in the past, and that I might need this again. He agreed. He advised me his associate would perform the procedure. He advised me they would follow up with my insurance company and schedule me accordingly. It has been a month and I have not heard a word from his office.

After dealing with lower back and leg pain for over a year, at times not even being able to walk, sit or stand I made an appointment to see Dr. Dagnew. He informed me that I needed surgery to correct all my problems. So after an 11 hour surgery and a couple of days in the hospital, I left with only minor surgery pain. I had no pain in my lower back or legs. It was like a miracle, and that's no joke. Twelve weeks later I'm doing great and still with no leg or lower back pain. Just some muscle spasm. So I'm still working on get stronger every day. Dr. Dagnew is one awesome man and a great surgeon to go with it. He has always listened to me and put all my concerns first. Office staff is great also. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is dealing with back and leg pain. Great job buddy. SF 10-12-20

Dr. Dagnew is one of the most patient and compassionate doctors. He is never rushed. He takes time to answer even the simplest of questions. More importantly he takes time to describe the procedures and what outcomes or risks are involved. The staff is always very helpful. Dr. Dagnew is very patient oriented versus being a procedurist. I was reassured at each visit of how I had improved and what to expect at future visits.

Complete relief from level 10 pain within 12 hours after surgery. Doctor Dagnew and staff are excellent and very caring. After 3.5 months after surgery physical strength has greatly improved although I will continue to be cautious until completly cleared by Dr, Dagnew, I remain EXTREMELY PLEASED with the entire 'experience'.
