Compassionate and caring physician
Marin County's loss will be Santa Cruz's gain in spades. Dr. Elisa Washburn is leaving this July 2024 to open a new clinic in Santa Cruz.I have found Dr. Washburn to be present and attentive, caring and compassionate throughout my care with her as my Primary Physician. She listens and takes the time to be inquisitive. These are rare qualities in the typically frenzied world of primary care. Dr. Washburn is quite competent and addresses concerns thoroughly. I'm now on the search for a new physician - big shoes to fill!

Dr. Washburn is decent and knowledgeable when you can get an appointment with her, but don't expect to get any appointment with in at least the next 4 -5 months. She also doesn't respond to your online questions for weeks, if at all. Her office / accounting manager at Marin Health, Deb Roy, is unresponsive, skirts her responsibilities and doesn't care about doing things right. Dr. Washburn sent me to Quest for a routine Vitamin D test and Quest charged me over $240. It should have been covered by my PPO insurance but Deb Roy can't be bothered to call my insurance company to fix the code. I have sent messages through Marin Health's online system to the doctor and the office, called multiple times in the course of 12 months, and they rarely responded and certainly did not correct the code. I'm stuck with bill and a threat by Quest to use collection agent. It's wild that we pay so much insurance premium and get lousy healthcare services. I felt beholden to this office because very few doctors in Marin are taking new patients. I recently changed job and as a result insurance and healthcare to Kaiser and the experience is vastly better, renewing my faith in our right to get quality healthcare.

If this is the same Elisa Washburn who is now in Greenbrae, I strongly suggest avoiding. I had a medical event and she didn't send me to a specialist or repeat the abnormal labs. I got no treatment and none of the evaluations I needed. I'm now playing catch up almost a year later. I have been in pain for a year. The neurologist I finally saw thinks it might have been Guillain Barre and if you don't get treatment for that right away it turns into a chronic condition. Dr. Washburn pooh poohed my serious symptoms that debilitated me so badly I had to hire a home health aide. She is arrogant and lazy or maybe she just doesn't know what she is doing.

5* Dr. Washburn is a wonderful compassionate and thoughtful doctor; sometimes her wide knowledge is staggering. She is trustworthy, explains clearly, answers questions, and listens. I highly recommend her. It is easy to schedule appointments, and urgent requests are usually made within a day or two; the office is comfortable and clean, the staff are very friendly and courteous. The wait time is usually less than 15 minutes.
