A young man made changes to my upper arm brace which made it more comfortable since I am supposed to be wearing it day and night. Learned more from him than anyone else.

Dr.Powell experience was more than I could hope fo
As a 64 year old male who has never had surgery of any kind you can image my angst. Dr. Powell and the entire OPA team were amazing. For or five years ago Dr.Powell let me know my knees were shot. When I finally realized TKR was the best option I put all of my trust and faith in Dr. Powell. So glad I made that life changing decision. Definitely for the best!

Four years ago I went to OPA because I knew my knees were shot. I remember with absolute clarity Dr. Powell looking at my x-rays and turning to me to say " your knees are shot". Yesterday, four years later , Dr.Powell and I had a very short visit as we both knew it was decision time. I have complete faith that I'm making the right decision and also have complete faith in Dr. Powell.

Excellent orthopedic surgeon.
The OPA team did a great job managing and coordinating all aspects of my surgery. All the staff and physicians I delt with were sincerely concerned with providing me the information I needed to prepare for and undergo knee replacement surgery.

Dr. Powell and Brian O'Loughlin are life savers. They were able to get me completely out of pain. I suffered from hip pain for many years and thanks to them I will be able to get back to activities I haven't been able to do in a long time. Everything with Dr. Powell was a breeze. The scheduling staff got me in very quickly and the wait time in the waiting room and exam room was minimal. Both Dr. Powell and Brian made me feel confident in my decision to have a hip arthroscopy. Thanks to them I am out of pain and feeling great.

Dr. Powell and his Team performed a bilateral knee replacement ( both knees) for me. I couldn't be happier. Just over 2 weeks post-surgery I'm walking around w/o a walker or cane. Was doing steps 4 days after surgery. Dr. Powell said it was a challenge to do both my knees at the same time, given how bad they were. He and his team overcame whatever challenges there were and gave me a couple new knees. I am very happy

I enjoyed meeting Dr. Powell for my initial hip exam. I found him to be a no-nonsense, confident, understanding, and compassionate physician (surgeon). Sometimes surgeons can be a bit hard to connect with but not so with Dr. Powell. He was personable and made me feel comfortable almost immediately. Surgeons usually see patients when they’re anesthetized. You hope they have great hands and tons of experience. I’m a candidate for hip replacement surgery and Dr. Powell appears to have it all. I hope i can push off my hip replacement surgery but the inevitable will likely come sooner than I want. I hope Dr. Powell is my surgeon there when my hip says it is time.

OPA takes great care of their patients beginning from initial diagnosis, scheduling surgery, after surgery instructions, and finishing through physical therapy. I had right shoulder arthroscopic surgery after an injury that left me with a 50% tear to my labrum. Dr. Powell and Brian O’Loughlin provided me detail on the issues with my shoulder and allowed prompt surgery scheduling to address the issue. I got the diagnosis in May, scheduled surgery in June, and finished physical therapy in October.
