I was stuck with Dr. Stecker as my PCP for years, as no competent doctors were taking new patients. I’ve finally escaped (my cardiologist convinced her PCP to take me on because she was so horrified at Stecker’s deliberate negligence) and have spent the last three years undoing to damage that her laziness and incompetence did to my body. She denied basic care required to monitor my degenerative condition. I may lose the ability to walk due to her mishandling of my case.I don’t care how desperate you are, don’t make that appointment. Don’t get stuck with this “doctor”. I hope this comment can help others that have been harmed by her, and keep vulnerable patients from being harmed by her.

Life Saving Care
Dr. Stecker is a caring, attentive and knowledgeable physician who is pro-active in addressing your health concerns. Because she listened to me and observed my physical health, she ordered tests that literally saved my life. She is one of the very best primary care physicians around.

Smart and dedicated to care
Dr Stecker has been helping my wife for the last 6 months with dedication, knowledge, and compassion. She has linked in specialists to be sure to provide the full spectrum of care, and worked to get her in for specialist visits and tests expeditiously. Her PA is also involved and very committed. I could not imagine better care in a difficult time. She always makes time for us, listens, and treats us like intelligent partners in care.

Top Doc
Dr. Stecker has been my PCP for the last ten years, she's professional, knowledgeable, responsive and most of all communicates well with her patients. The office staff is friendly and helpful. Dr. Stecker is extraordinary and I highly recommend her.

Stay Away
I am writing to report that Dr. Elissa Stecker is a very poor diagnostician and that she makes diagnoses and test recommendations without ever having seen the patient or even spoken to them on the phone. When I went to her office on April 25 complaining of intermittent abdominal pain and extreme fatigue, I was seen by her Nurse Practitioner, not by Dr. Stecker. By the next day, I was informed to go to a hospital for an abdominal CAT scan to detect pockets of diverticulitis, a word in my chart from five years ago. The NP informed Dr Stecker that I had showed no signs of pain or abdominal tenderness when she had examined me. I refused the CAT scan. Subsequent blood tests revealed a white blood cell count that was very high and continuing to rise. Finally, Dr. Stecker prescribed a course of antibiotics, something that did bring down the white blood cell numbers but should have been administered much earlier.

Unhappy Patient – May 07, 2022

Dr. Stecker’s office takes advantage of their patients. I was hit with surprise charges after my annual physical since Dr. Stecker asked me questions and suggested tests that were not covered under my physical (and therefore, not covered by my insurance), without letting me know that I would be charged hundreds for discussing that I felt sick. When I called the office, they told me that I accepted these charges when I “signed the papers when I checked in,” as if I am omniscient and am expected to know exactly what is and isn’t covered in a preventative visit. Apparently, signing the papers means that you allow the doctor to trick you into unnecessary tests and procedures. I would expect a doctor to take care of their patients and warn them of additional charges rather than scam them so that they can make an extra buck. This behavior is shameful.

I only went to see Dr. Stecker a couple of times. She seems fine as a doctor but charged me almost TWO HUNDRED dollars to fill out a very short form that I needed a doctor's signature on (something my previous doctor did free of charge). Even though there were only a few basic (mostly yes/no) questions, she requested a video appointment where she just asked me how I was doing, charged me for that, and then charged an additional $75 to fill out the form. Just to get the paper work that I had already been charged for, I had to call multiple times over the next several weeks before it was posted in the portal. When I tried to dispute the charge, the office manager told me to send the bill, but when I did she never responded. I don't expect people to do things for free, but I also don't expect to be taken advantage of by a doctor's office.

I have thoroughly enjoyed having Dr. Stecker as my PCP over the past few years. I have always felt listened to and she's really worked with me to find the best solution to any issue I was having. I've had some complicated health issues and she's always taken the time to thoroughly make sure everything is addressed and addressed well. She's very kind and easy to speak to. I'm so disappointed to need to find a new PCP as I am moving away.

I have worked in hospitals for 35 years. I had the same PCP for 25 years till he retired. I did some research and found Doctor Stecker. PERFECT. She is everything you need in a PCP. I am on a first name basis with many Doctors and know who the good ones are. Doctor Stecker gets a 5 on all points. Blessed that I found her. She is wonderful!

I have had a great experience with Dr. Stecker and would recommend her to anyone. She is friendly, easy to talk to and very thorough. She is definitely the best PCP I have had and I hope to continue seeing her for a long time. The front office staff is very nice and so are the nurses who work with her. I've had such a great experience that I actually had my husband change to another PCP in the same practice.
