Condescending attitude
Note how many reviews make use of the word 'condescending'. This was exactly my experience with this dismissive and most definitely condescending doctor. I don't need my PCP to be my friend, but this guy hated his job and seemed to enjoy punching down on patients. Example: I sent a MyChart request to him for a referral on the same day I had an appointment, thinking this was the preferred method to request them. The reply I got was, 'surely this can wait until I see you this afternoon...' Just entirely unnecessary sarcasm and entirely unacceptable behavior from a medical provider. He was my PCP for a year and dropped his entire patient load at Baylor with a couple of week's notice. Good riddance.

Terrible clinician
I saw this doctor for several years. Never diagnosed me with high blood pressure. I had a stroke, when I questioned him he was very condescending and rude. Now I have several years of rehab to look forward to.

Multiple visits, poorly coded leading to unnecessary insurance charges. No assistance, condescending. Go somewhere else 0/5 stars.

Excellent experience
When I first came to Dr. Cavazos, I had underlying chronic conditions that had not yet been diagnosed. He did an excellent job of listening and trying to sort through all of my symptoms. He referred me to good specialty care physicians who were able to make the correct diagnoses and initiate the right treatments. I feel so much better. My quality of life improved immensley under Dr. Cavazos' care. If you have an undiagnosed condition or issue, he will help you figure it out.

A very grateful patient – Jul 08, 2022

1. He talks first, listens later. 2. Condescending attitude. 3. Jumps to conclusions. 4. Presumptive way of asking questions. 5. Zero personality. 6. Dialogue of his exam was eerily scripted, repetitive and robotic. 6. Physical exam and history-taking not thorough. 8. Concluded exam without asking if patient had any additional questions or concerns. Visibly annoyed when Pt asked to address other issues. 10. No acknowledgement nor encouragement of positive health behaviors. 0/5 STARS

My parents changed their PCP to Dr. Cavazos about a year ago, and we have been so happy with his care! As a physician myself, it is so comforting to know I can send my parents to see their doctor (Dr. Cavazos) and not worry about the care they will receive nor having to "translate" the information he gives them. He explains things very well to them both in the office and on follow up labs through the EMR system. He is very thorough in his treatment with them and has a great bedside manner.

I am a new patient who came to Dr, Cavazos after I left my other MD in search of someone better. I researched beforehand & so far I'm impressed. I have a worsening rash & Dr. Cavazos has been very empathetic, is extremely knowledgeable & has attacked the problem more aggressively than my former doctor, who who treated only the symptoms without trying to solve the underlying cause. I'm not well yet but I feel lucky I found a MD willing to work with me to find answers. The Baylor system is good too

Physical was on brief side, tho I didn't come away feeling it was inadequate. That said, he missed ear infection I had--did not even look into my ears. Real issue was his report on my blood tests. It was cursory, didn't describe meaning of my results that were abnormal and didn't provide any actionable advice. I followed up & he refused to answer Qs unless I scheduled another visit. Without that info, I got nothing useful from visit. Getting that info should not require another visit (more $).
