Dr. Elsa Cruz, MD

I don’t think the reviews that state how wonderful and professional this office is are being truthful!!! I have been to this person a few times over the years and it’s always a mess! Always a very long wait and disorganized. Now that it can be done via telephone, she doesn’t even call near the time appointment is booked, no time is spent diagnosing, and prescriptions are not to pharmacy in a timely manner. You can always get an appointment with her. Beware…

It has been about three years since I last saw Dr. Cruz but she drove me to the brink and I need to make sure anyone reading this avoids her. I would show up to every appointment early, but would half to wait no less than half an hour every single time. And while I was waiting, I could literally see her just chilling on her phone in her office with no patient present. Then, when I was called in, she would always just make light small talk for most of the appointment and then prescribe me whatever medication she was being paid to promote without any regard for my situation or preferences. She gave me some of the most brutal medications I have ever been on and I was in misery the entire time I was under her care. She is beyond unprofessional and clearly does not even try. If you have to choose between not having a psychiatrist and going to Elsa Cruz, don't see a psychiatrist. There are few people I hate more in this world than this evil monster.

She doesn't deserve any stars. My very first appointment, she didn't even bother to show up at the office. She doesn't care about the medication she prescribes to her patients. She can't be bothered to even listen. She'll talk over you and interrupt you as well.

Dr cruiz is an interesting mix. Shes really nice and caring with an actually rathet exceptional knowledge of medication being very aware of dosing intracies with a relativey cautious approach. On that part where many other doctors fail, shes great. The caveat is that her staff and bookkeeping are entirely disorganized. Scheduled electronic appointments dont seem to get shown to her and shes almost always very late to them. I've also had the staff charge me the copay for a scheduled appointment that I missed though they fixed it quickly. I love her but just consider if that's the kind of doctor you need.

All staff and Dr Cruz are friendly kind and caring . Dr Cruz listens with an empathetic ear . Dr Cruz is understanding and validates feelings and emotions. Thank you to amazing staff and Dr Elsa Calumpit Cruz !! AC

Dr. Cruz is the best. Simply the best. I love the way she listens and gives time to the patients. And booking an appointment with her has never been a problem with me. Someone referred Dr. Cruz to me and I am so glad to have found. Just love her. ??

She was absolutely horrible! See someone else. I wouldn't recommend her to anyone. I saw her for panic attacks. She didn't keep basic notes on anything. She tried to write me prescriptions that she had previous written me. It was like a broken record. She would write me a prescription for a medication and I would have to tell her that she already gave me that and it didn't work. She asked the same questions like where I went to school and where I worked. Then proceeded to respond with the same exact answers as last time. Very odd. What made me stop seeing her was when she told me to just take Zoloft right before I had a panic attack and it would help. I questioned her on it and her response was "I am the medical professional and you're not." Multiple doctors have told me that all the prescriptions and advice she had given me was very wrong. It blows my mind that she still has her license.

Zero stars if that were an option. I do not understand how she got her license. It should be revoked! She is the absolute worst. Doesn't pay attention to anything you say, just keeps repeating that everything will be fine. She makes extremely judgmental comments and off-the-wall statements also. She is extremely useless. She has students do her bookkeeping and they clearly don't know what they're doing. I've been charged for services she did not provide.

horrible person. difficult to get an appt with. more important, does not listen to the patient. all she does is write prescriptions without even looking at you. I questioned her way of doing business and she told me i should find another dr. Personally, i think she herself is over medicated based on her slurring of words and other mannerisms. Her staff/nephew is completely incompetent. i was overcharged and he didn't understand what he did or how to fix it. dr gave me cash out of her purse..... great book keeping

Dr. Cruz advertises that she specializes in PTSD, but that is clearly not the case. During my first and second visits (I will no longer be going back to her), she said several EXTREMELY triggering and judgmental statements about my sexual assault. After the first visit I left the building and cried in my car. I tried to give her a second chance, but clearly this was not an isolated incident. She does not know anything about how to interact with trauma victims.

ZERO stars. We were sent here because she was the only adolescent psychiatrist anywhere near us (we still have to drive over 45 min). My 14-year old child had to experience her terrible attitude, lateness (over 30 min), lack of empathy or compassion - she didn't even give my son eye contact, and asked me, his parent, all the questions instead. She answered personal phone calls, wrote a prescription, and sent us on our way. She should not be in practice, especially with more sensitive teens.

Would leave zero stars if that was an option. Dr. Cruz has zero idea who I am/the issues I am struggling with/even what she is prescribing me... and I see her once a week. She doesn’t seem to care or even keep simple notes, as she asks me the same questions every visit, and then re-writes the same script; after I have communicated over and over “seroqeul” and “clonodine” are NOT helping my GAD. Unsure how such an incompetent person has a medical degree. Don’t waste your time.

I jumped though all of her hoops, went twice in 1 week to complete her outside psychologists testing center and provided all of my previous medical records. She refused to refill my existing prescriptions and let me leave unmedicated and without refills. I am so shocked a ‘medical professional’ refused to listen to her patient, prior medical records AND the advice of her own testing facility. If you need real help, move on and find a real psychiatrist. I have never experienced such stupidity.

She doesn’t explain what the medicines are for, she just gives you them. She comes into work late. Her office staff doesn’t have answers to any questions, they sent the wrong bill because they didn’t put the updated insurance. It’s been the worst experience I’ve ever had. I also had withdrawal from one of the medicines because I could not get in touch with the doctor for 5 days, on normal business days and either could the pharmacy.

Called three separate times and left messages that were never returned. The one time Dr. Cruz herself answered I was able to express concerns about a prescription I needed refilled immediately. We were disconnected and when I called back she answered and put me on hold for about 20 minutes before I hung up AGAIN and called back. She answered and didn't remember why I had called in the first place. Regarding her refilling my PRESCRIPTION that I NEEDED said "we'll see okay bye" and hung up on me

I'd love to know if she's prescribing and pushing the same medication on all her patients - guanfacine (intuiv) . Took me cold turkey on meds I'd been on for 28 yrs to switch me to the preferred drug of her choice and all I want to do is sleep all day. So, yea, guess I'm happier and less anxious...I'm sleeping all day!!

I was a patient of Dr. Cruz for 9 months, starting in 2017. During this time she carried out prescribing the medication that my previous doctor had prescribed. Over the course of these 9 months, it became more and more clear to me that she was not paying attention to my condition. She requested frequent tests and consultations with other doctors, but never talked about this with me. At our last meeting, she made out my prescription to the wrong person. Overall, she was not engaged in my care.

She gave me the perfect update to my prescription and changes my meds and dosage to help me make the changes that desperately needed to be made. Yes she may seem all business at times but it is because she is asking the right questions that need to be asked.

If you want to see someone who just looks at texts messages the whole time instead of looking at you and who also asks the same questions in a row because she is not listening to your answers this is your doctor. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! Left with extremely high anxiety and walked out of the office I was so offended.

I took my daughter to her and she couldn't even make eye contact with her, repeatedly asked her the same questions like she wasn't even paying attention the first time she asked. Within 15 minutes she wrote out a prescription with out much information and she didn't even ask what medications she was allergic to. I would never go back, she is extremely unprofessional.
