Dr. Matarese treated my son for several years when he had suffered a brain aneurysm followed by a stroke . He was at both Jefferson and Capital health. Now he is treating my husband for cognitive and memory issues. I would definitely recommend him to anyone dealing with neurological disorders. He’s the best

Dr Matarese is amazing! I’ve never seen a doctor (I’ve seen many!) who has been so sincere, caring and attentive as him! I changed doctors a lot because of what I was going through but when I saw him I finally felt seen and understood! He’s such a caring and thorough doctor!! He picked up on thing my past doctors hadn’t in the past couple years. I felt like he didn’t rush me out as many doctors I’ve seen had. He’s the most genuinely caring doctor I’ve ever seen! Would recommend to any looking for a neurologist!!

Dr. Matarese is amazing; however, the staff is not. It is impossible to get prescriptions refilled - no one responds to any messages that are left on their voicemail regarding prescriptions. I almost ran out of a prescription and after calling twice, I had to yell at the girl on the phone because she was so defensive about not responding to the request for a refill for a whole week. I have had this happen twice now. First time, "shame on you", second time "shame on me". Dr. Matarese just lost a patient. Tried to talk to him but was told the doctor can't possibly call patients back - he's too busy. This is unfortunate as I have been a patient for 7 years but it is now time to find another doctor. I know of another patient who no longer goes to him. Dr. Matarese needs to know what is going on but his staff won't let him call anyone back.

Dr. Matarese was amazing! Spent two hours with my mom and I doing a full body neurological examination and figured out what was wrong with me and also educated me instead of just telling me the problem. He is the best doctor I’ve ever been to. He’s so kind, listens, educates and formulates a gameplan with you.

Dr. Matarese and his staff were very welcoming. He was very kind and made me feel comfortable. He took all the time I needed to explain what I wanted to know. He listened to what I wanted to tell him and explained what I needed to do; he made me feel confident that I was going to get better. He is a fine doctor who not only knows his field, but also has a sincere, honest, supportive way of reassuring way his patient.

We first met Dr. Matarese after my daughter had a head injury while playing soccer. He was very thorough, patient and diagnosed her with a concussion. He prescribed a long term plan for her school and her therapy with good results. My daughter felt very comfortable with him. We now take my mother to him as well for dementia. My mom thinks he is very nice. He has such a gentle and caring bedside manner and never rushes through an exam. I would recommend his practice

When my mother was diagnosed with dementia we saw him. He met us one time and recommended us to Capital Health Neurologist. Unfortunately Capital Health Neurologist moved and Dr. Matarese's office contacted us to schedule appt. We went and they were unsure why we were there(even though they called us to schedule). He was once again dismissive telling us that there is nothing he can do other than prescribe medication and he will see us in a year.

In 40+ years of dealing with doctors, I have never experienced such amazing care. My son was injured in a ski accident and we tried desperately to see a neurologist. Everyone was booked solid, including Dr. Matarese. But Dr. Matarese gave us the SAME DAY appointment. It was at 5:30 pm, after his office closed. He stayed with us for 2 hours, examining every XRay and CT scan. He diagnosed a concussion and evaluated things that were even unrelated to neurology, like my son's back pain from the acci
