Dr. Emile Risby, MD

I will never forget my first appointment with Dr. Risby at Emory. He didn't have an office yet, so we met in what felt like a janitor's closet. So cramped our knees were touching. I felt HEARD...he made sincere eye contact and really listened. I had already been through decades of Dr. and meds. I just didn't respond to antidepressants. But, at the end of the appointment, he said, "We will get you some help. We will keep trying until we find something that works." And just that hope...looking forward and not at all the failures in getting relief in my past...was a huge dose of optimism. I am so grateful to have been one of his patients. I've seen so many, many Dr. and some are truly exceptional. I call them healers. Dr. Risby impacted my health and my life in a very powerful way. There aren't enough accolades to accurately describe him.
