Dr. Emily Poland, DO

Complete lack of Empathy, I had the worst experience with her. I will NOT be going back. If you want to feel belittled and not heard this is the perfect place to be. I hope she finds a career/life filled with love, compassion and inner peace.

I've had three procedures with Dr. Poland in the past six months. My initial office visit was fine, but during the first pre-op, I asked her a question, and she scolded me, saying that we had already discussed it in the office. I had a follow-up and I will not be seeing her again. The manner in which she spoke to me left me feeling like I had been scolded by a teacher in elementary school. In the medical profession, you must have some level of empathy...Dr. Poland has none. Dr. Poland needs to be reminded that her patients are her customers and that her customers are paying for her services. As a paying customer, I expected excellent customer service.

I have never left a review before but after leaving my appointment, was so bothered by her demeanor. She was very condescending the entire appointment and when I tried to ask questions or have a conversation, she was extremely rude. I will not be returning to see her again.

Had her mind made up before she came in. Rude, monopolized conversation. Wouldn’t listen to me.

I did not meet Dr. Poland in person or speak with her on the phone prior to the day of the procedure. I met with another individual who asked repetitive questions and explained to me that she did not have access to my medical history only the doctor did and that is why she needed to ask again. The person I met with also recommended re-taking tests I had already taken. I did not receive any other communication from Borland and Groover prior to the procedure other than asking me to switch my appointment to an earlier time and a text reminder of the appointment. At the hospital Dr. Poland did not introduce herself she just walked in the room and started asking questions. There was no visible identifying badge that I could see and her grey uniform with the words "Borland Groover" was the only clue I had as to who she was. Dr. Poland asked a series of questions lasting 2 minutes or less before the procedure. After the procedure Dr. Poland did enter the room but was only present again for 2-3 minutes. Her demeanor was rushed, unpersonable and she did not ask me if I had any questions or concerns. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone that may have any questions, expects to have a high level of engagement from a doctor or does not like being rushed when it comes to your health care and well being. If you are used to having procedures and know the routine she would be perfect for getting you in and out in an assembly line fashion.

Dr. Poland needs to work on her bedside manner. Within minutes of meeting her she was talking down to me about my health care. Very condescending.. would not recommend

Stomach Bleeding.

Dr. Emily Poland was condescending and unnecessarily rough during exams/procedures. I would not recommend her to anyone.

Doctor did not appear to know why I was referred to Borland Groover and without looking at recent notes from MD Anderson, decided that she could not do anything for me. My surgeon (cancer team leader), upon learning this, has decided to do the larynx dilation himself.

Dr Poland needs some serious classes on better bedside manners. She has total lack of empathy, and seems almost happy with her grim diagnosis.

Horrible experience with this doctor. The most unhelpful and incompetent doctor ever. She did not care at all about my condition and literally did nothing for me.

Has awful bedside manner, extremely rushed and didn’t listen to my concerns. Would never go back or recommend Dr. Emily Poland.

seemed unwilling to listen..seemed dismissive.absolutely unwilling to hear caregiver's eye witness account of accident or even see or talk to her..will seek a 2nd opinion..I am highly disappointed in her..

She’s great. She explains thing very well, is very kind and she has a good cheerful staff.

Doctor Poland made me feel so at ease during my visit. She worked with me to determine a treatment plan and took my thoughts into account. I appreciate her thoughtfulness, knowledge, and openness for answering my questions. Thank you, Dr. Poland!
