Not honest
If you are looking for compassion and honesty skip this provider. Went in for a followup for previous endometriosis pain after I've had a hysterectomy. During ultrasound I can clearly see the tech has found a fairly large cyst where I'm complaining of pain. Speak with the doctor later and appointment begins with well we didn't find anything so don't really know what the problem could be. My husband ask so what about the cyst could that be part of the pain? She goes into some off base very rude answer about what does he want her to do an exploratory surgery just looking around for things, then ends with oh yeah I think your endometriosis is back her is some medicine. Beyond rude any time you ask questions or need clarification.

Dr. Sammons is, perhaps, the most pompous, disrespectful person I have ever encountered. If you are seeking a compassionate, open, cooperative, competent healthcare provider, she is NOT your gal. I have been to her office on 3 occasions and each time she presented as a condescending, heartless know-it-all, who obviously has chosen the wrong profession. I will be finding another GYN.

Really Disappointed
I really wanted to like this doctor. After experiencing a traumatic loss, I switched from a previous provider to Dr. Sammons with high hopes for a positive experience. I became pregnant again and when visiting Dr. Sammons for routine prenatal care, she constantly tried to get me to take anti-anxiety medication. I repeatedly told her I wasn't interested in taking it and I was getting upset because any time I asked even a simple question, she would say I had anxiety and would call the meds in to my pharmacy anyway. During my pregnancy I was also concerned with a breast lump, particularly because a family member has breast cancer, and she made some very condescending remarks and wouldn't investigate the lump further. With every visit, she was a minimum of 45-60 minutes late for my appointment without so much as an apology. At my last visit, her staff literally skipped me and she didn't see me until well past an hour after my appointment. I will be finding a different provider.

I’ve seen Dr. Sammons for 3 years now. She is very knowledgeable, but has strong opinions on birth control. She continuously pressured me to go back on birth control even though I feel 1000% better off of it. She likes to push the IUD. When I wouldn’t accept that, she wouldn’t let me leave the office without taking a free sample of phexxi “in case I have an oops.” I use FAM, take my temperature each morning, monitor my cycle, etc. But it seems she thinks I’m too stupid to not get pregnant even though this method has worked for the past year. I like that she explains things thoroughly and answers my questions, but she seems condescending the whole time, almost like she’s talking down to a child. I will be looking into a different OBGYN, one that is more open to natural, hormone-free birth control.

Wouldn't recommend
Most uncomfortable OB visit I've ever had... She started the appointment off complaining about scheduling & how I should schedule at the LSL location instead of Wentzville. She made it seem like my appointment was inconvenient to her. Misdiagnosed & neglected to treat a bump I had. On top of all that, the receptionist was rude. After weeks of no improvement, I went to a different OB and it was a much better experience.

I’ve been with Dr. Sammons for nearly 10 years and she’s been great from the very beginning. After dealing with years of symptoms with no explanations, she finally diagnosed me with the one disease that accounted for everything, which helped me to get the proper treatment and deal with my infertility. I also love that she doesn’t coddle me. She has good bedside manner but she also meets you at your level, wherever that may be, and she doesn’t beat around the bush or sugarcoat things. She gives me honest and accurate information and allows me to make my own choices based off the whole picture. She’s been with me through all of my ups and downs and has been thorough the entire time.

This person is completely unprofessional and said some inappropriate comments to a friend of mine. I will NEVER be seeing this person again. In fact, I will be telling by word of mouth all of my friends and family in the St. Louis area to avoid her at all costs. I refuse to post the comments she said out of respect of my privacy. But I do not trust her anymore.

I brought my 17 year old daughter to see Dr. Sammons. She doesn't prescribe birth control and immediately wanted to schedule an appointment for an IUD, without my knowledge. The doctor didn't introduce herself to me or even discuss this procedure to me. Very disappointed. Won't be going back.
