Dr. Emily Schonfeld, MD

Dr. Schonfeld has a great deal of patience and explains things so that I can get a full understanding of the situation. She also sends me messages via the portal when she gets test results which is so kind of her.

Dr. Schonfeld is the Dr. who is “cream of the crop, A#1, Top of list that any patient is so very fortunate to have. The nurses and assistants all very professional, kind and caring as well.I highly recommend this Dr. and Weil Cornell to all in need.

She’s smart as well as pleasant to deal with. Very respectful. Didn’t assume I was knowledgeable of everything but definitely didn’t talk down to me either. I’m always impressed with her and know that I’m in great hands. So glad WCMC finally got her approvals for out of state telehealth licensing completed this year.

Dr. Emily Schonfeld is a phenomenal hepatologist! My husband was diagnosed with a severe liver disease, Dr. Schonfeld and the rest of the medical team at Weill Cornell literally saved his life. Dr. Schonfeld is soooo sweet, empathetic, intelligent and has great experience in the hepatology and GI space. She takes her time to explain the condition, cause and possible outcome of the subject matter. In addition she is responsive with phone calls, messages and results from blood work. Whoever is treated by her are in very good hands. I cannot commend or provide enough accolades to her, she simply is the best!

Dr Schonfeld has been taking care of me as a liver transplant patient for a few years now. She is just wonderful, knowledgeable and friendly. Allows us to ask questions and is very patient with her responses.

Dr. Schonfeld explains well what you need to know. She takes as much time as is needed and you never feel rushed. She doesn’t make you feel judged or inferior and I highly recommend her.

Dr. Schonfeld is nice and patient, but her assistant Clara Ho is too rude to the patient. She seems not well educated. Clara Ho seems to be in a bad mood every day. She can't speak properly. She talks to patients like they're her enemies.

Dr Schonfeld is very friendly, she has a very nice personality, takes her time with you, explains everything fully and wants you to ask questions if you are unclear, or has any concerns.

Dr. Schoenfeld understands how hard I try to lose weight and she really tries to take the burden off of you tries to give you solutions and ways to help. I do think she takes into account what your lifestyle is like a very busy parent and eating on the run. She is soft-spoken and not scary in any way. She just wants to help and she’s very relatable!

From the day I was admitted throughout my surgery and then to my recovery and still to this day Dr Schonfeld made me feel and continues to make me feel like I’m her only patient. Now that I’m home she always checks up on me , explains everything so that I can understand it and always gets back to me to even answer my questions no matter how minuscule they may be. This Dr is incredibly knowledgeable. She diagnosed a condition that many Drs missed. She has empathy and took the time to listen to my concerns and her clear explanations diminished my anxiety. She immediately calls to give you the results of tests. Highly highly recommended.
