Concerning
We took our 10 week old to Dr. Grimes after a referral to further investigate a potential tongue tie when she had been gaining weight slower than expected. After a long spiel about how tongue ties are currently over-diagnosed whenever breastfeeding isn’t going well (and briefly examining my daughter and noting that he did not see a significant issue), he then suggested that she could have cystic fibrosis, which may explain her slower weight gain (noted by him as “failure to thrive” on his notes when I later checked, although her primary care physician had never officially classified her weight gain as that severe). As you can imagine, as a first time mother, this caused me significant anxiety… until I realized that she had been screened for cystic fibrosis at birth as part of her routine, state-mandated labs. The fact that a medical professional working in the state of Ohio was not aware that this was part of a routine screening (as in most states) is concerning.

I've been going to Dr. Grimes for over 7 years. He has a great bedside manner and takes the time to answer my questions. He has even told the nurses who were trying to rush me through an appointment to essentially back off. I would highly recommend him.

I had a strange condition with the tip of my tongue that caused me pain when speaking. After dealing w/it for 8+ months; CT scans, blood work, etc. All came back normal. But, my tongue had a lump in it that hurt when speaking. Eric took the time to listen to my concerns and was never judgmental. In the end, he removed the lump from my tongue. It's healing now and should be fine. I was most impressed with his willingness to take the time to listen and offer a solution. Thank you!

We love Dr. Grimes! He has done 2 sets of war tubes and an adenoidectomy for my young son. We first saw him when he was practicing in Mansfield, and continue to see him in Wooster. He is very knowledgable, has incredible bed side manner, and truly listens to and understands our concerns. Most importantly I 100 percent trust him in caring for my son. I highly recommend him.

I can honestly say that Dr. Grimes is one of the finest doctors I know. He treated me for a longstanding problem requiring surgery. Throughout the entire procedure, from beginning office visit for assessment to where we are now, a completed post op visit with a follow up in three months, and that time frame includes my successful surgery, I have been nothing but utterly pleased and impressed. Dr. Grimes is skilled and knowledgeable as well as kind and caring. I highly recommend him to everyone.

I have been a patient of Dr Grimes for many years. I have chronic sinus disease , multiple allergies and polyps. He has always gone above and beyond to treat me and to make me comfortable. He does not rush me and always listens to my concerns and opinions. He does sub-specialties in the ENT field which makes him a valuable asset in the treatment of my medical issues. I highly recommend him and have the highest regard for him as person and physician.

I was sorry to hear of Dr Grimes leaving Galion. He did my thyroid surgery and was an excellent surgeon with a wonderful bedside manner. After my surgery the doctor himself walked with my husband and daughter back to my room. We need more doctors like Dr. Grimes.

I had a tonsillectomy with dr grimes. He was very polite, and listened to all of my concerns and symptoms. He checked on me before and after surgery. He didn't prescribe narcotics which I'm actually thankful for bc I didn't have any vomiting due to them! I have called and gone and seen him since with recovery concerns and he was very caring and empathetic! I wil continue to go to him as my ENT doctor !

Dr. Grimes is rude, inconsiderate, and condescending. Not only was he physically hurting my child, but when my child started crying and proclaiming pain, Dr. Grimes just kept on going. He laughed at my childrens concerns and scoffed at my HCP. However, I was in good company, as I was witness to the same attitudes towards his own staff. Thanks, but no thanks on Dr. Grimes. 0 recommendations..other than it's retirement time.

He was rude & quite frankly borderline obnoxious. I wouldn't go back, nor would I recommend a new patient see him. I started to ask a few questions and he cut me off asking me why I was even there. I quit asking questions. I really felt belittled when I left.

Dr. Grimes performed a tonsillectomy on me several days ago. My initial impression of him was that he was very genuine and thorough. However, after my surgery I learned that he wouldn't prescribe me pain meds. I can understand why doctors are hesitant to prescribe narcortics, but after a pretty major surgery?! He told my parents that he does not believe in them. He recommended children's liquid Tylenol. Even after calling the office and describing my pain and how miserable I am.

Very belittling , obnoxious . I don't feel he has any compassion for his patients. He doesn't listen to patients complaints and does not allow a patient or other doctors for that matter opinion. If you have other options, choose them , or if you have a common problem that is easy to diagnose he may be your man.
