Nightmare
He does not listen. He is demeaning and unlearned. He recommends exercise for pain. I explained 3 times I am currently in physical therapy. Muscles spasms and Charlie horses galore. He says that’s from “my mood disorder “ . Didn’t know I had one, I did leave with tears that I fought back! No empathy just seems annoyed with pain . Truly the worst doctor ever

Dismissed concerns from patient with chronic pain
He dismissed the lived experience of a Black Queer woman, suffering from chronic pain. Do not become a patient of this man, unless you want to be dismissed, and mocked by an arrogant doctor who thinks he knows more about your body than you. Not only is he an arrogant doctor, he has a horrible bedside manner, no sense of cultural competence, and doesn't keep up with the latest research related to fibromyalgia. I've seen Dr. Liro for fibromyalgia for the past two years and over time, I've never really felt heard by him when it came to my experience with pain and fibromyalgia flares and even concerns with my cognition/ brain fog. He always thought it was related to something else. But, I still stuck to his “treatment plan,” thinking maybe I'm doing something wrong (because I know fibromyalgia improvement takes more than just medicine) Today, after he dismissed my concerns that I've had a 3-month flare-up of my foot (Stiffness and pain), as me needing insoles, WITHOUT a follow-up questio

I'd recommend Dr. Lirio
Just had another appointment with him yesterday. Dr. Lirio really listens and asks good questions. He offers solid advice and/or treatment options. He's attentive, thoughtful and intelligent and he seems to take my health seriously. 10/10 would recommend.

Find a new doc
I was DX with lupus and mtx conn tissue disease. I waited 7 months to get in here after my last rheum was shut down. He revokes my DX and says I don't have lupus I'm just overweight. Upped my meds after telling him they make me deathly ill and changed it to a shot, and wants to see me back in 3 months. Didn't order everything he said he would. Also wanted to put me on a med that can hurt me due to my antidepressant. I told him no due to 3 other docs saying it's dangerous. He said it would be fine and they didn't know what they are talking about. I'm finding a new doc asap

He looked at my age and not clinical condition. Dismissed biopsy and symptoms. Second opinion found with connective tissue disease. As a RN who has worked 41 years, never dismiss your patient. The MD should be your advocate and detective.

I’ve never felt so belittled or discredited. I actually started to cry due to the frustration while talking to Dr. Lirio (he didn’t acknowledge my obvious distress by the way). He based his opinion off of labs from 2016 and completely dismissed my concerns, which have been echoed by my loved ones and precious physicians. After waiting five months to see him and feeling so hopeful for help, I’m left absolutely devastated. If you are looking for someone who cares, listens to your concerns and prioritizes making you feel safe and validated, he is the last medical professional you’ll want to see.

I really enjoyed my time with Dr. Lirio. Very kind and knowledgeable. He asked questions, took notes and did a full exam. He helped me understand why I have the symptoms that I do. I would highly recommend him.

I saw Dr. Lirio on referral from my PCP for treatment of myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME), a condition that's hallmark symptom is post-exertional malaise (all other symptoms are worsened by physical exertion). After he appeared to listen to me explain my medical history, the negative impacts my previously very active lifestyle had on my health due to my condition when undiagnosed, and the extreme health issues I had following previous treatment with physical therapy before we knew about the ME, he then prescribed graduated exercise. This is the LEAST appropriate treatment for my specific condition, goes against all current research, and as I'm also far from overweight / there was no obvious alternative reason he would recommend exercise, I can only conclude he: - Didn't actually listen to a word I said, - Knew nothing about my disease, and - Did nothing to ensure his 'advice' was not dangerous to someone with my medical condition despite his obvious lack of knowledge -2/10 / no stars

I left my appointment with Dr. Lirio feeling so dejected. He treated me with utter contempt. Instead of listening to any of my concerns or even conducting a real exam, he relied on what a "specialist" had diagnosed me with 12 years ago, and simply said, "I agree with his assessment." When I tried asking questions, he was rude and dismissive. I am so glad I brought my husband with me as my health advocate. He was as taken aback as I was by his unprofessional and dismissive manner.

Do not waste your time! His office is terrible. His nurse practitioner is rude and belittles you every chance that she gets. I have never had a worse experience. Dr Lirio isn’t horrible himself but forgets to connect qith your primary care doctor to help with further care. Again his nurse practitioner is absolutely a nightmare stay away!

I had a really bad patient experience with this man recently and based upon his lack of interest in me, I bet he doesn't even know it. He does not dig in, get to know you/your history, and does not ask relevant questions. He judged me at first glance because I do not "look" sick. It's taken me a decade to admit my concerns, and I am symptomatic with abnormal test results--which is why my doctor referred me to him. I felt belittled after our meeting. He's stoic and has a terrible bedside manner.

I will never go back. He didn't listen when I mentioned issues, forgot to put in referrals he told me he'd do (had my PCP in the end), and failed to do basic testing for the disease HE DX ME WITH. When my symptoms go with multiple related diseases with very varying health risks. I've already told several people not to go to Lirio. Awful, awful specialists. NOT EDS/connective tissue disorder friendly, either. Only thing he did right was switch my sleeping pills - which my PCP could have done.

I am a 58-year old male with rheumatoid arthritis and have had nothing but good results from Dr Lirio. Due to my lack of knowledge related to illnesses, I go to him for answers to my medical condition and he listens to me describe my symtoms for which provides me with his professional opinions, as well as various options for my treatment. I usually lean on his expert judgment and he has never let me down yet which is the reason I trust him 100%.

This was one of the worst experiences I have had in my life. This doctor is not a people person, nor respectful of those who may be older than he is. I have never been to a doctor who did not acknowledge your input or value what you were asking. I have been having problems since 2014, had surgery and asked for an x-ray. I was told that I didn't need one because I had one in 2015 prior to the surgery. I am worse now. So not a good experience at all.

Dr. Lirio was professional, thorough and spent the appropriate time with me explaining issues and providing me with a plan for feeling better. Office staff was friendly and professional. I really like the Westerville location at 300 Polaris Parkway - have been there many times and have always been happy with the doctors and staff.

Dr. Lirio Obviously Has Little To No Experience In Dealing With Young Adults Transitioning From Children's Hospital Rheumatology To Adult Rheumatology. He REFUSES To Listen To Anything My Mom And I Have To Say. Dr. Lirio Thinks His Opinion Is The Only One That Matters. Dr. Lirio Does NOT CARE How Much You Are In And Will REFUSE To Prescribe Any Type Of Pain Medication Whatsoever! Dr. Lirio Is A TOTAL JOKE Of A Dr.!!!! If You Care About Your Family Member, Go Somewhere Else!!
