Two years ago, I elected to have a gastric sleeve surgery. Although the doctors recommended the gastric bypass surgery, I personally felt the sleeve would be more successful. After experiencing complications a couple of days later, I learned that the hernia repair failed and my stomach had inverted up into my esophagus. I was told my only option was to have a gastric bypass surgery. The doctors emphasized that they would not use the robots this time. ( Why? Was there a problem with them the first time?) I had several complications during this time, spent two days in ICU and two and a half weeks in the hospital. This whole experience was very traumatic. I was afraid I would not live. I can’t help but question if there was negligence that caused the failure of the first surgery. I have no way to know if Dr. Marcotte made mistakes but I would never recommend him to anyone.

My husband recently had a hernia repair with Dr. Marcotte who specializes in minimally invasive procedures. Dr. Marcotte explained everything very clearly to us, and the procedure went very well. We felt fortunate to have such a competent, caring physician.
