Dr. Eric Mathis, DO

Being of different generations is always challenging and most everyone experiences doubt and defensiveness on first meetings. This was what I experienced with Dr. Mathis. Since then, the ice has thawed and I find him to be open to possibilities and willing to listen. With this open communication I found myself tested and ultimately treated for a condition that was causing definite harm to my body. I thank Dr. Mathis to being open to thoughts and discussion of my research.

After getting my BS in Finance I robbed at gunpoint once, robbed and shot multiple times in a separate incident, and violently carjacked with a gun to my head. I take many medications and this fellow was bent on stopping the benzodiazepine I have been prescribed since 1992. I suffered through dosage reductions for a year until I finally wound up in the ER during a panic attack. The psychiatrist he referred me to tripled my daily dose (returning me to original dose) four days ago and I can sleep again, my tremors have stopped, anxiety attacks have stopped, agoraphobia went away, my stomach can digest food again, and am totally myself.He ignored all my symptoms and told me two separate times “you shouldn’t be having those symptoms.” Don’t waste your time with this small town know-it-all because he really doesn’t.

The worst physical I have ever had. I was rushed along. They did not even take a blood pressure, or listen to my heart. Waste of time!
